All high school seniors that attend St. Frances Cabrini are invited to participate in the Graduation Masses on Sunday June 7, 2020 at 10:00 am (English) and 12:30 pm

(Spanish). Students will need to arrive 15-30 minutes before and are encouraged to wear their cap and gown. Please call the office (817-326-2131) by Friday, June 5th to confirm you will be participating and please provide your full name.

La Ascensión del Señor La Iglesia entera celebra la Solemnidad de la As-censión del Señor al cielo, a los cuarenta días de su resurrección. En esta solemnidad como dice San Juan Pablo II en una de sus homilías sobre la ascen-sión: “la contemplación cristiana no nos aleja del compromiso histórico. El ‘cielo’ al que Jesús ascen-dió no es lejanía, sino ocultamiento y custodia de una presencia que no nos abandona jamás, hasta que él vuelva en la gloria”. Realmente es una expresión de la promesa de amor que Jesús ha hecho a todos los que lo siguen, nunca nos abandonara hasta su venida gloriosa. “Mientras tanto -continúa el Santo- es la hora exigente del testimonio, para que en el nombre de Cristo ‘se predique la conversión y el perdón de los pecados a todos los pueblos’”. Esta es la misión que Jesús dejo y nos ha dejado, y que nos compromete a que seguir compartiendo como parte del compromiso de nuestro bautismo, de haber di-cho a Jesús, ”SI creo en ti”. Uno de los pasajes bí-blicos que narra este episodio de la vida del Señor está en el Evangelio de San Marcos 16,15-20: “Conclusión del santo evangelio según san Marcos:

En aquel tiempo, se apareció Jesús a los Once y les

dijo: ‘Id al mundo entero y proclamar el Evangelio

a toda la creación. El que crea y se bautice se salva-

rá; el que se resista a creer será condenado. A los

que crean, les acompañarán estos signos: echarán

demonios en mi nombre, hablarán lenguas nuevas,

cogerán serpientes en sus manos y, si beben un ve-

neno mortal, no les hará daño. Impondrán las manos

a los enfermos, y quedarán sanos’. Después de ha-

blarles, el Señor Jesús subió al cielo y se sentó a la

derecha de Dios. Ellos se fueron a pregonar el

Evangelio por todas partes, y el Señor cooperaba

confirmando la palabra con las señales que los

acompañaban”. Ojala que nuestro testimonio al ce-

lebrar esta fiesta nos anime a vivir y compartir este

compromiso como cristianos. ¿Sabe cuando se cele-

bra la Ascensión del Señor?

The Ascension of the Lord

The entire Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord into heaven, forty days after his resurrection. In this solemnity as Saint John Paul II says in one of his homilies on ascension: “Christian contemplation does not take us away from historical commitment. The ‘heaven’ to which Jesus ascended is not remoteness, but concealment and custody of a presence that never abandons us, until he returns in glory”. It is really an expression of the promise of love that Jesus has made to all who follow him, never leaving us until his glorious coming. "Meanwhile," continues the Saint, "it is the demanding hour of witness, so that in the name of Christ to preach the conversion and forgiveness of sins to all peoples." This is the mission that Je-sus left and has left us, and that commits us to con-tinue sharing as part of the commitment of our bap-tism, when we said to Jesus, "I do believe in you." One of the Biblical passages that narrates this epi-sode of the life of the Lord is in the Gospel of Saint Mark 16,15-20:

“Conclusion of the holy gospel according to Saint Mark: At that time, Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said: ‘ Go to the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to all creation. He who believes and is bap-tized will be saved; whoever refuses to believe will be condemned. To those who believe, these signs will accompany them: they will cast out demons in my name, they will speak new languages, they will take snakes in their hands and, if they drink a dead-ly poison, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be healthy.’ After speaking to them, the Lord Jesus ascended into heaven and sat at the right hand of God. They went to proclaim the Gospel everywhere, and the Lord cooperated confirming the word with the signs that accompanied them”. Hopefully, our testimony when celebrating this feast will encourage us to live and share this commitment as Christians.

Dear brothers and sisters in the Risen Christ: We have been and are going through difficult times in this time of pandemic that has physically separated us as a community. But without a doubt, it has not distanced us in the spirit of God that has prompted us to con-tinue fighting to remain united in that same spirit. Moments of solitude that has called us to meditate and re-main as Jesus' disciples praying in the solitude of our houses. It has been a time of blessing also because it has been an opportunity to meditate on our following of Jesus as the Master and Lord. We have had this time to better live our devotions and faith in Jesus, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the Stations of the Cross, the liturgy of the hours, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and without a doubt participating in the mass in a special way, through the different media sites. We have realized that the media like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter can serve a lot on the path of evangelization and formation of each one of us as followers of Jesus. This time has given us the great opportunity to show the charity that we have learned from Jesus, moments that personally have really caught my attention have been how brothers/sisters arise with the joy of sharing with others the blessings that God has given them. How to forget those beautiful people of God who have shared with us in the last days the masks for the brothers and sisters who forgot to bring theirs to Church, a special thanks. I do not mention them because I am afraid of forgetting and not saying a name, my sincere thanks to each of you. I was able to share with some brothers and sisters, food and some other help that pa-rishioners gave me to share with brothers/sisters in need, some of them who in their need never ask for help, because they think about what they may need the most, really humble families and people. To each of you brothers and sisters in the parish community, may God reward what you have done and continue to do for our community. All this has made me especially reflect on the passage of the scripture of the disciples of Em-maus - of the chapter 24 of Saint Luke -, thinking about the discouragement that the disciples had, thinking that everything had been in vain, that the reign of Jesus had been a failure. Not realizing that Jesus was so alive that he walked beside him. Today I can say that the same thing is really happening to us, there will be several brothers who have also had similar moments, when I listened to brothers and sisters who were afraid of the things that were coming due to the pandemic. The numbers of the infected and the deceased. But after understanding the words of Jesus, the presence of Jesus was understood, a Jesus who is not silent, but contin-ues to speak and show himself to so many brothers and sisters. Men and women who have now gone out to communicate to others that Jesus really is not dead, but alive. And so alive that it has shown us in the return to the community, to feel the warmth of the brothers/ sisters, to look at each other, to pray together, to know that we are all well. Thank God things are returning to normal, little by little, but we should not be impatient. But let us enjoy the moment when Jesus is with us, and if you think that he is not, I invite you to meditate on spiritual communion, pray it with humility … I believe my Jesus, that you are present in the most holy sacra-ment of the Altar. I adore you and love you above all things, I wish to receive you inside my soul. But since I cannot do it sacramentally at this moment, I ask you to come by least spiritually into my heart ... And as if I had already received you, I embrace you and I unite myself to you. Lord, may I never be separated from you. Amen. May Jesus be our strength… AMEN. —Your Priest

VI Sunday of Easter time This Sunday is one of the most beautiful Sundays because of the words that Jesus addresses to his disciples. A message of love that invites us to live in mutual love, not only with brothers and sisters in the community, but with Jesus himself, as a person. In a beautiful way he tells us "If you love me you will keep my command-ments." What a beautiful proof on the part of Jesus has loved us to the point of dying for us and invites us to love him with all that we are and have, and asks us to die in our daily lives to things that take us away from him. To do everything for love in the fulfillment of his commandment. Loving at all moment, in all circum-stances. Living optimistic way of live, correcting with love, helping others with love, with the only purpose of helping others to see that love that God has for us. Many times, this will seem difficult, but remember that he tells us that he do not to leave us alone. He will send the Holy Spirit to strengthen us and make us speak what we must. Wonderful gifts, Wisdom, Understanding, Advice, Strength, Science, Godliness and Fear of God. Without a doubt, everything is possible in Jesus, with the Holy Spirit, as an offering to the Father. May we con-tinue to bear witness to God's love with our lives.

Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo Resucitado:

Hemos pasado y estamos pasando momentos difíciles en este tiempo de pandemia que nos ha alejado como co-munidad físicamente. Pero sin lugar a duda, no nos ha alejado en el espíritu de Dios que nos ha impulsado a seguir luchando por permanecer unidos en ese mismo espíritu. Momentos de soledad que nos ha llamado a me-ditar y permanecer como los discípulos de Jesús orando en la soledad de nuestras casas. Ha sido un tiempo de bendición también pues ha sido una oportunidad de meditar sobre nuestro seguimiento a Jesús como el Maestro y Señor. Hemos tenido este tiempo para vivir mejor nuestras devociones y fe en Jesús, con el rezo del Santo Rosario, el viacrucis, la liturgia de las horas, la coronilla de la divina misericordia, y sin lugar a duda participar en la misa de una manera especial, por medio de los diferentes medios de comunicación. Nos hemos dado cuen-ta de que los medios de comunicación como el Facebook, YouTube, Twitter pueden servir muchísimo en el camino de evangelización y formación de cada uno de nosotros como seguidores de Jesús. Este tiempo nos ha dado la gran oportunidad de mostrar la caridad que hemos aprendido de Jesús, momentos que en lo personal me ha llamado muchísimo la atención el mirar como surgen hermanos con la alegría de compartir con otros herma-nos las bendiciones que Dios les ha dado. Como olvidar a esas hermosas personas de Dios que nos han compar-tido en los últimos días las máscaras para los hermanos que olvidaron traer la suya a la Iglesia, un especial agra-decimiento. No les menciono porque tengo miedo de olvidar y no decir algún nombre, mis más sinceros agrade-cimientos a cada una de ustedes. Pude compartir con algunos hermanos, comida y algunas otras ayudas que pa-rroquianos me dieron para compartir con hermanos en necesidad, algunos de ellos que en su necesidad nunca piden ayuda, pues piensan en lo que más lo pueden necesitar, familias y personas realmente humildes. A cada uno de ustedes hermanos en la comunidad parroquial, Dios les premie lo que han hecho y siguen haciendo por nuestra comunidad. Todo esto me ha hecho reflexionar especialmente en el pasaje de la escritura de los discípu-los de Emaús – del capítulo 24 de San Lucas-, pensando en el desánimo que los discípulos tenían, pensando que todo había sido en vano, que el reinado de Jesús había sido un fracaso. Sin darse cuenta de que Jesús estaba tan vivo que caminaba a su lado. Hoy puedo decir que verdaderamente nos pasa lo mismo, habrá varios hermanos también han pasado momentos similares, cuando escuchaba a hermanos que tenían miedo por las cosas que se venían venir por causa de la pandemia. Los números de los contagiados y los fallecidos. Pero después de enten-der las palabras de Jesús, se entendía la presencia de Jesús, un Jesús que no está callado, sino que sigue hablan-do y mostrándose en tantos hermanos y hermanas. Hombres y mujeres que han salido ahora a comunicar a otros hermanos que realmente Jesús no está muerto, sino que está vivo. Y tan vivo que nos ha mostrado en el regreso a la comunidad, a sentir el calor de los hermanos, mirarnos, orar juntos, saber que estamos bien todos. Gracias a Dios las cosas van regresando a la normalidad, poco a poco pero no hay que impacientarnos. Pero disfrutemos del momento en que Jesús esta con nosotros, y si crees que no lo esta te invito a meditar la comunión espiritual, rézala con humildad… Yo creo Jesús mío, que estas realmente presente en el santísimo sacramento del Altar. Te adoro y te amo sobre todas las cosas, deseo recibirte dentro de mi alma. Mas como no lo puedo hacer sacra-mentalmente en este momento, te pido que vengas por lo menos espiritualmente a mi corazón… Y como si ya te hubiese recibido te abrazo y me uno todo a ti. Haz, Señor que nunca me separe de ti. Amen.

Que Jesús sea nuestra fuerza… AMEN. —-Tu Sacerdote

Domingo VI del tiempo de Pascua Este domingo, es un domingo de los que mas bellos por las palabras que Jesús dirige a sus discípulos. Un men-saje de amor que invita a vivir en el amor mutuo, no solo con los hermanos y hermanas en la comunidad, sino con Jesús mismo, como persona. De una forma hermosa nos dice “Si me aman guardaran mis mandamientos”. Que prueba tan bella de parte de Jesús nos ha amado hasta el extremo de morir por nosotros y nos invita a amarlo con todo lo que somos y tenemos, y nos pide morir en nuestra vida diaria a las cosas que nos alejan de EL. A hacer todo por amor en el cumplimiento de su mandamiento. Amar en todo momento, en toda circuns-tancia. Siendo optimistas, corrigiendo con amor, ayudando a otros con amor, con el único fin de ayudar a los demás a ver ese amor que Dios nos tiene. Muchas de las veces esto parecerá difícil, pero recuerden que nos dice no nos dejara solos. Enviara al Espíritu Santo para fortalecernos y hacernos hablar lo que debemos. Unos maravillosos dones, Sabiduría, Entendimiento, Consejo, Fortaleza, Ciencia, Piedad y Temor de Dios. Sin lugar a duda, todo se puede en Jesús, con el Espíritu Santo, como ofrenda al Padre. Que sigamos dando testimonio del amor de Dios con nuestras vidas.
