Undoubtedly, it would not be a normal day. The point of today’s Gospel reading is that the end-time is always imminent. The good steward remains prayerfully alert, ready to give an accounting; and living each day in the aware- ness of the coming judgment and salvation. How do we exercise stewardship over our daily lives? Are we prepared to give an accounting? ¿Cómo invertirías tu tiempo si supieras que este fuese el último día que vivi-eras sobre la tierra? Indudablemente, este no sería un día normal. El punto de la lectura del Evangelio de hoy es que el final del tiempo es siempre inmi-nente. El buen corresponsable permanece alerta piadosamente, listo para

entregar cuentas; y vive cada día consciente del juicio y la salvación venideros. ¿Cómo ejercitamos nosotros la corresponsabilidad en nuestra vida diaria? ¿Estamos preparados para rendir cuentas? ¿Cómo permitiremos a Cristo obrar en nosotros y a través de nosotros para preparar la reconciliación de los cielos y la tierra?

El Consejo Pastoral busca nominaciones para

elegir cuatro miembros del periodo 2016-2018.

Si usted desea nominar a alguien que sea miem-

bro de la Iglesia San Antonio de Padua , porfa-

vor llene la Forma de Nominacion a la oficina

parroquial antes del 4 de Diciembre, 2015. Se

requiere una breve biografia de cada nomi-

nado. Las Formas pueden encontrarse en el

boletin o sobre la mesa de informacion en la

entrada de la Iglesia. Las elecciones se llevaran

a cabo la primer semana de Enero.

El Apostolado Hispano invita a los musicos para

la Conferencia de Musica Liturgica el Viernes 20

San Martín de Tours nació alrededor del

año 316 en un territorio que ahora es parte

de Hungría. Su padre, un oficial del ejército

Romano, reclutó a Martín en el servicio

militar a la edad de 15 años. Cuando Martín

aún era soldado, ocurrió el famoso inci-

dente que ha sido conmemorado por

muchos artistas. Un día, en las puertas de la

ciudad de Amiens, vio un mendigo es-

casamente vestido. Martín cortó la mitad de

la capa de su traje militar y la compartió

con el mendigo. Esa noche Martín soñó que

Jesús usaba la misma mitad de capa que él

había dado al mendigo. Martín consideró

por algún tiempo convertirse al cristian-

ismo. Rápidamente él fue bautizado y de-

cidió dedicar su vida a Cristo. Martín fue

seguidor de San Hilario de Poitiers (Enero

13) quien le entregó la tierra donde se esta-

bleció el primer monasterio en Galia

(actualmente Francia). Este fue el primer

monasterio conocido que se estableció al

norte de los Alpes. El cristianismo estuvo

mucho tiempo confinado a las áreas urba-

nas, y Martín vio los monasterios como

centros espirituales rurales, desde los

cuales podría llevarse a cabo la evangeli-

zación en el campo. Él fue apasionado en

llevar a la gente a Cristo. El año 371, era el

tiempo en el que los fieles elegían a los

obispos, Martín fue engañado para ir a

Tours y ser elegido obispo. Él era recono-

cido por su evangelización, su santidad

personal, su ministerio de curación y por su

compasión hacia los pobres. También era

bien sabido que Martín nunca accedería a

ser obispo. Un hombre de la ciudad acudió

a Martín y le rogó visitar a su esposa en-

ferma. Cuando el bondadoso Martín llegó a

Tours una multitud de gente salió de sus

e s c o n d i t e s

rodeándolo. Inca-

pacitado para

escapar, él entró

a la ciudad y

subyugado por la

voluntad de la

multitud, se con-

virtió en su

obispo. Martín

mantuvo su estilo

de vida como

monje y ejercitó la corresponsabilidad en la

diócesis, caminando, montando un caballo

o en bote. Su profundo testimonio personal

se encontró con gran éxito en un área que

fue pagana por mucho tiempo. Martín

murió el 8 de noviembre del año 397, y su

fiesta es el 11 de noviembre, el día que fue

sepultado en Tours. Él es el santo patrono

de Francia.
