PARISH PRAYER TREE St Ann Prayer Tree members are here for you in our daily prayers for your needs and intentions. Please call our Parish Office at 708-895-6700 for your name to be placed on our prayer list. All requests are kept confidential. Should you need prayers for longer than 30 days, please call and

reconfirm. Thanks to all our members, and please feel free to become part of our prayer group

by submitting your name and email. Bless all of you, and many thanks.

When a child or grandchild dies―whether an infant, toddler, school aged, teen, or adult―parents mourn and begin a pro-cess of bereavement. It helps to become involved with oth-ers who have experienced something similar. Sharing eases loneliness and allows an expression of grief in an atmos-phere of acceptance and understanding. Grief is a testa-ment to the person who has left us. Love does not end, so we feel the loss for years to come. Coffee & Comfort is a place to share stories, to confide in others who truly under-stand, and to discover hope and healing. We meet on the first Monday of every month. For more information, please contact Lorraine Stephens at 708-895-6700.

Many Blessings . . .

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 7:12

Driving home from work at dusk one day, I attempted to flash my lights at a car to let them know their lights were not on. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had also been driving without mine on. I thought to myself that is the opposite of leading by example!

My dad used to say, “Don’t do as I do, do as I say.” I disagree, believing instead that “actions speak louder than words.” Jesus talks about leading by example. “You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Matthew 15:7-9

How do we follow in Jesus’s footsteps if we can’t re-spectfully lead the way for others? There are so many ways we can be disciples of Jesus, such as by following the commandments, going to Mass, being kind to oth-ers, or even reaching out further if we are able to be part of a ministry or a volunteer in the community. Whatever we do, if we do it with love in our hearts, and Jesus as our spiritual guide, we will provide blessings to others and be blessed as we journey down the path to eternal happiness with God.

“Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1

Many Blessings, Debbie Bona, Ministry Coordinator
