From Sac/Fairfield:

Take I80 West toward San Francisco. At Vallejo take exit 33B to merge onto CA Hwy 37 West toward Novato/San Rafael. Take the exit toward Mare Island, and continue straight on Walnut Avenue. Turn left at Connolly Street. Take the first right onto Railroad Avenue.

From San Francisco:

Take I80 East towards Sacramento. In Vallejo take the Tennessee Street exit. Continue West on Tennessee to Mare Island Causeway. Go across Causeway. Turn left onto Railroad Avenue (go to end, on the left hand side).

Surface Preparation Hands-On Workshop

This hands-on workshop will allow members and guests to witness and perform various surface preparation techniques using hand and power tools. Included will be demonstrations of proper use and application of each standard and the associated equipment.

Members and guests will have the opportunity to work side by side with other industry professionals. This will be a very informative, fun and worthwhile event.

The workshop will include but not be limited to the following:

SSPC-SP 1 (Solvent Cleaning)

SSPC-SP 2 (Hand Tool Cleaning)

SSPC-SP 3 (Power Tool Cleaning)

SSPC-SP 11 (Power Tool Clean to Bare Metal)

SSPC-SP 15 (Commercial Grade Power Tool Cleaning)

Other Demonstrations TBD

SSPC exists to improve the education of its members and to promote the coatings industry. The Chapter wants to build the camaraderie of its membership through useful, user-friendly programs.

The Chapter is interested in the education of the future workforce and extends an invitation to students in the local Painters Apprenticeship Programs to attend this workshop as guests of the Chapter.
