The Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance (CASDA) is a coalition of Canada's
autism leaders, organizations and autistic individuals advocating for a National Autism
Strategy. We represent the interests of approximately 500,000 autistic Canadians, their
families and service providers. We are committed to ensuring the implementation of a
National Autism Strategy that addresses critical gaps in funding and policies.

The Canadian Autism Leadership Summit (CALS) is one of
CASDA's key annual initiatives. People with autism, leaders
in autism community and politicians from all parties
discuss and develop policies and strategies that benefit
people on the autism spectrum. In a very short time, past
notable achievements include creating the Canadian
Autism Partnership and implementing Ready, Willing and
Able National Employment Program.
Key to the 2019 Summit was our Blueprint for a National
Autism Strategy, which provided a guide for the federal
government on how to enact a Strategy. Summit attendees
heard engaging presentations led by sector leaders
addressing the most pressing issues facing autistic
Canadians and their families/carers. Panels included
autistic adults discussing their experiences and
demanding Nothing About Us, Without Us and Indigenous
leaders speaking to the realities of autism in Canada's First
Nations communities.

The Summit has a proven track record. In addition to the aforementioned successes of Canadian
Autism Partnership, Ready, Willing and Able, and the National Strategy, the Summit yielded
important work in giving a venue to hear the voices of self-advocates, those in rural or remote
areas of Canada and especially to hear the voices of those in the First Nations communities
whose plight is unimaginably difficult.
In the Summit 2019 evaluation survey, 87% would attend again and 90% would recommend the
event to others. "The Summit does a fantastic job of informing stakeholders of changes in
research, practice, policy, etc. Great networking opportunity - especially love the national stage.
Very action oriented attendees." - 2019 attendee
An estimated 1 in 66 Canadians aged 5-17 have autism. It is the most common and fastest-
growing neurological condition. Your organization can play a part in supporting a solution-
oriented event that provides a national vehicle for information sharing, networking and advocacy.
A nominal registration fee is charged to ensures wide participation and is the reason financialsupport is necessary to hold this important event.
Supporting the Summit not only allows you to be part of facilitating this vital exchange, but also
grants another level of exposure for your organization to Summit attendees. In addition, your
support provides the unique opportunity to show your support for a National Autism Strategy.
