About FSB

FSB supports the UK’s 5.9 million small businesses and self-employed, who make up more than 99 per cent of all private sector businesses. They contribute a staggering amount to the UK’s economy as well as being a major source of employment; more than 16 million people are employed by smaller firms.

Since the start of COVID-19, FSB has campaigned on numerous central issues that affected our members, not least ensuring that as much government support as possible was put in place, as quickly as possible, for as many members as possible affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

At the same time, we created and delivered resources and tools across the UK to help members with their survival and opportunities for new growth in the midst of a very different world. Our work achieved:

• 1.2 million employers were able to furlough staff

• Income support for 2.7 million self-employed

• 500,000 VAT payments deferred

• Bounce Back Loans received by 1.3 million small businesses

• Cash grants received by 900,000 small businesses.

FSB is the UK’s biggest business membership organisation, established in 1974, offering our members a powerful voice which is heard in governments at all levels. FSB also offers vital business services and products and the opportunity to be part of the UK’s biggest and most supportive small business and self-employed community.

About the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards

We celebrate the UK’s small businesses and recognise each and every person, company or family that owns, runs or works in a smaller business. They are our innovators, our economic drivers and the backbone of our communities. It is their businesses that embody the creativity and resilience that fuels the UK’s prosperity.

FSB’s Celebrating Small Business Awards is the largest event of its kind in the small business calendar. On average over 8000 small businesses register and enter our awards programme.

Our UK winners are all outstanding examples of successful and diverse small businesses.

The concluding event in our annual event programme, our UK Final, sees 132 finalists from 11 categories and 12 geographical finals from across the UK come together to see who will be both the overall winner in each category for the UK but also who will be the overall FSB Celebrating Small Business of the Year.

The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards recognise and celebrate the huge contribution that smaller businesses and the self-employed make to the UK.

Award finals take place between February and April culminating in the UK Final in May 2022.

With thousands of attendees at geographical final level and over 700 attendees at the UK grand final attracting businesses and VIPs of all sizes and across all sectors, each final promises to be an incredible celebration and will provide networking opportunities and exposure for your business. Each awards ceremony is again expected to be a sell-out, building on the thousands of attendees we see each year.
