THREE WEEKS WITH THE FLORIDA CHAIN OF MISSIONSBy ESPlDRANZA ABELLERAFew things are considered more

alluring than the offer of a h-ip tothe "Land of Sunshine' i.n wintertime. Unsought for, this opportunitycame to me early this year when Iwas honored with an invitation to beone of the speakers at the last (12th)annual session of the Florida Chainof Missions. Several reasonsprompted me to accept the invitation,One was the prospect of seeing newand beautiful places and eujoyingnew scenes and environments: anotherwas the desire to escape pa rt of thecold weather in New York and. to baskin warm tropical summer, instead. But these were only secondary con-siderations. I welcomed the oppor-tunity more because I wanted tohave a share, humble though it1 1 1 1 1 _ might have been, in creating and/ A l V f l ' f r strengthen~l:g that .missionary inter-

r have attended many missionaryconferences in various pads of theUnited States, but the Florida Chainof Missions stands unique in its pro-gram and message. 'Never beforehave Ibeen so impressed, 50 inspiredand so filled with joy, It is differentfrorn any other missionary' confer-ence in this country and elsewherein that it is a "chain" of assemblies. It is not just one conference hetd fora ceitain number of days in oneplace where only a limited number ofdelegates from different places go,Rather, it is a series of missionaryassemblies held in different cities andtowns in Flor.ida. The leaders andspeakers themsel ves doing the travel-ing' from place to place, it is an at-tempt to bring the missionary mes-sage to a.' many people as possible. This year's program extended the"chain" to Patm Beach, Miami,
