Message from the Master

True visions experienced during meditation are the signposts on the path of spiritual progress. Some abhyasis lament reporting that they have lost what they have experienced at previous occasion. This is not true. On the contrary, if they go on experiencing the same vision again and again, it means their progress on spiritual path is halted due to some

sanskaras blocking the way, and they should immediately consult their preceptors for remedial measure. In this regard a caution is the visions observed during meditation may be spurious; the illusionary projection of ones impure mind. In such occasions, other concomitant symptoms, like simplicity, lightness, subtlety and pervasiveness, tenderness of heart,

empathy, clear perception of events without the twist of imagination, etc. of mind-psych would indicate the true or spurious nature of mental visions experienced during the meditation. As one proceeds in meditation on the spiritual path, with the help of pranahuti, the consciousness that was gross in waking state, goes on sublimating, and sub-mutating by astral filter into transcendental, followed by cosmic, and finally turns into subtlest, all-pervasive Godly consciousness, which is experienced and settled as Sahaja Samadhi. At this state consciousness becomes so purified and subtlest by astral-filter mechanism, that it remains only potential, leying dormant at its source 13th point, at the occipital bone prominence at the back of the head, that what Master designated it as ‘Tam’. The most easy way to attain the afore indicated highly exalted spiritual condition is to acquire the state of submission to the will of a great Master who is in eternal layavastha or merged in Parabrahman, the Reality; this will gradually develop and proceed ultimately into a spiritual condition of surrender, “sharanagathi”. What is the advantage in terms of spiritual advancement? You may ask. In this way you make yourself negative; empty the grossness of the heart by eliminating the ego. This method creates astral divine vacuum in the heart for the divine Power to gush in and fill the heart. Try to invoke God’s blessings through Master. This is an easy, and sure method to get the results.

Conscious state of “Nothing-ness” and “zero” is attained when the knot of material base in the heart is dissolved. It means disseminating the sanskaras from the causal body oriented to point (B). This spiritual exercise helps to harmonise the nature; and that means transcending the duality nature of mind psych which is the precursor to pure ‘Being-ness’ or Absolute “IS-ness” of existential life of the creational process.

Life with Mind, Beyond Mind, And No-Mind: The Spiritual Implications.

The existential life consists of two basic

principle factors, the infinite (Ananta), and the finite (Alpa).

The infinite factor in human nature acts as static (Kutastha) screen on which variegated day to day life experiences come and go, leaving memories to be stored in mind as impressions, the sanskaras. It is just like dramatic scenes flashed on a TV screen. The screen is static and permanent, but the pictorial event scenes on the screen are transitory and get lost.

The Infinite principle in human personality, called Atman or Soul acts as the base or platform for finite ever mutating mental thoughts, projected as events.

Fundamentally, existential life is mental. In reality there is nothing outside as creation. The outside objects seen in solid three dimensional forms, in fact are the projected micro impressions stored at the causal body of the mind; just like an electronic micro-chip that stores information in a cell phone.

The mind in conjunction with, five sensory, and motor organs is responsible to create the delusion of creational life as solid 3-dimentional outside phenomenon. Such possibility can be appreciated by the experience of dream where we feel objects experienced as if outside to dreamer.

mind oscillates between waking state and dream state of consciousness to create existential experiences at 3-dimentional and uni-dimensional nature respectively. While in sleep, for want of active functional mind and other cognitive instruments of perception and action, we have ‘0’ dimension experience.

Yet, ironically we remember and recall the sleep experience by the statement that “I slept well” despite, the four functional modes of mind viz. perception, feeler, thinker, and knower-ego self are absent along with their instruments. This shows that there is another factor in us, which is independent of the faculty of the mind that in all conscious phases of life stands as witness (Sakshi), unattached to the variegated activities of mind. That is the Atman, the Soul

“ Tat Thvam Eva” “That What You Are”

And, you are not the body, mind, intellect, and Ego.

This proposition is logically simple. Because, when you see me you are not me; when I am seeing you, I am not you. In the same way, when you see your physical body, you are not the body! When you are able to see the thoughts arising in your mind, then, you are not the mind.

You are Atman the Soul, Eternal Witness of life phenomenon created by mind, and also the absence of out side objective life, for want of functional mind.

Mind is able to create this delusion of non-existing marvel of out side objective life, because of inscrutable, mysterious divine power inherited from Cosmic Mind of Creator, called as ‘Maya’ with interwoven attributes or ‘‘Gunas” of ‘Satva, Raja, and Tamo’ of Nature (Prakruti). This deluding power of mind continues to bind the ego to the un-ending cycle of birth and death, so long the individual identifies himself as body, mind intellect by ignorance (Avidya).

“Mana Eva Manushyanam Bandha Moksha Karanam”

The bondage and liberation is of mind and a mental

phenomenon. (Ref: sutra Bhashyam) One more aspect of mind-psych is, we do not get

automatically involved by mere looking at the events; it is the extent of identification with the objective phenomenon outside, that affects the joys and miseries.

“Dhu Khee Sayad Dhukhyam

Ananda Dhukhino Darsha Na Nava Sam - Hate Anga

Di-Bhir Drashta Dukhee Duhkhasya Naiva Saha”

Meaning: “One becomes unhappy when one identifies

oneself with something (e.g. intellect) which has assumed the form of unhappiness but not merely seeing it. The Witness (The Self) of the pain in the body which is a combination of the limbs, etc. does not feel pain. ** (Ref: Ibid)

It is only through surrender to God, with devotion, and utter dependence on Him (Ananya Bhakti), that one could escape the vicious cycle of rebirth called “Punar-Jenma” as indicated in the following verses:

Maya Yaetam Taranti Tae (Ref: Gita-7-Sl.14)

Meaning: Bhagavan Sri Krishna says - “This Maya is my

inscrutable, mysterious power composed of three gunas (qualities / attributes) of nature that inter-woven the existential – life of the mankind, and very difficult to get-over its delusory effect. By surrendering only, with love and devotion to me, you would be saved.

Life, in creational process, with or in mind, is always duality bound. And, hence pleasures and pains, inevitably alternate, just like day and night. The only way to escape the miseries is to go beyond realms of dualities of mind.

Mind means only thoughts in the ocean of consciousness. Mind is consciousness in flow. The real rest, and peace in life, is a divine state of thoughtless mind. It is an immortal condition “Amrutatva” of spiritual state.

“Yatha Vivikta Mekanto Mano Bhavati Nirvrutam

Na Tatha Shashi Bimbeshu Na Cha Brahmendra Sadmasu”

Meaning: “The joy that fills a mind which is thoughtless and undisturbed, such a perfect joy is not found in the pleasing moon, nor at the palace of the Creator, nor with the King of Gods, the Indra himself” (Yoga-Vasishta)**

The mind that transcends it’s duality nature is called as ‘NO-

MIND’ “Amanaska”. In classical texts of yoga the process of attaining this condition, is designated as “Amanaska-Raja Yoga”.

KathamThasyad Dwayam Mama Amanastvaa Avikaritve Videha Vyapino Mama”

Meaning: “How can I who am pure and mindless have those

two? I am without any change and without a mind as I am all-pervading and devoid of body consciousness”

(Ref: ** “Upadesha Sahasri” – “Thousand teachings”. Chap.13-Sl.15; Pub. Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Madras-1970-India)

Thus, by appropriate yoga practice one can transcend the mind and attains the transcendental consciousness. This type of yoga achievement is transitory, so long one is in the meditation seat, it is experienced that mind reverts back to past mode of operation of duality nature of existential life after the meditation is over.

It means, the sanskaras have not been wiped out completely, and the practice under samartha sadguru who has attained perfection by merging in the ultimate Reality and who is endowed by the gift of transmission of grace of Pranahuti is to be carried out till the mind is purified to the level of “Vishudha Satvatma”, where it attains the condition of “No-Mind” the “Amanaska”.

Does he get angry? Stressed? Impatient?

These may seems like silly questions, but he too live in society and deal with family issues with no bearing on his daily life.

Grand master Lalaji, Babuji or Swamiji were not exempt from worldly issues, they just transcended their minds beyond the three dimensional physical world. Detachment by attachment was practiced, and that God was the doer not their body, mind, intellects of ego.

Placing the flowers and petty things like that are traditions that differ in many places. The main purpose is to engage all the five senses (Viz “Pancha indria's” that are vision, smell, hearing,

In Hindu Temples, Rituals are designed to please all these senses so anyone could easily experience the eternal happiness. Deity Alankara – Vision Dhoopa and Flowers – Smell Mantra and Bhajans – Hearing Prasad - Taste Aashirvad – Touch.

Flowers are used for both Vision and Smell (Flowers without fragrance must not be used in temples and prayers)

I think, the question is of self-conscience. Seeing the flower at the feet of the murti (Idol) is a way of getting blessing. What we see the most is what that is comprehended the most. Looking at the murti and seeing the flower facing us will flick our conscience that we are gaining the blessing of the lord. The

flower is a way blessing can be transmitted from the murti to the worshipper. However, it could be also that, we always want to see what looks good, even at the expense of ss646ok God. If a famous actor is performing, we would never want to see their backs while they are performing. It’ a very good question indeed. • Regarding your question about the mode of keeping flowers as an offer to the Devata (deity), as per the Agama-Shastra there is no such restriction, as to the flowers to be kept facing or not facing, before the devata.

• Keeping flowers turned-away direction not facing the Devata, may be a local ''Achara'' (Custom) or method of Poojas in your land of Fiji. There are no such restrictions in India. The flowers are placed on the head of the Devata and they are spread, at the feet of the devata, while performing ceremonial pooja.

• Agama Shastra is the scripture, which delineates the ways, methods, principle, customs, dos, and not-dos (achara) etc. about worship in temples. And, the guidelines, given in the Agama Shastra book, for temple worship is also followed, in performing pooja in house-hold worship of ''Ishta devatas'' (Tutelary Deities).

• So, you can do the pooja with flowers, keeping on the head of the devatas, and some placing the flowers at the feet of the devata, facing the Devata.

• Some flowers while placing at the feet of the Moorty, may incidentally fall and roll facing you the poojari. There is no breach of the custom of worship or sacrilege, if it happens in this way.

Regarding doing japa, now at this juncture there is no need. Japa is only the preparatory practice for Dhyana-yoga that you have already crossed successfully. Swamiji in his last mail has mentioned about japa only as a preliminary mode that people, who emphasise ignorantly japa ''As all-End'' in spirituality and do not understand the correct procedural way.

Mantra can not bestow the glimpses of Reality, because mantra in general is oriented to some Devata which is the mental-projection of the meditator. Only Pranava Jepa Of Om, that too crossing beyond the three matras of A, U, M,( Akara, Uakara, Makara) and dissolving into Silence ( Mauna ) called “Turiya” can be equalled to Meditation on Reality through Pranahuti of IUSCM and SMRYDGA. In Sahajamarga Rajayoga Dhyana Gruhastha Ashram the main factor in meditation is ‘Pranahuti’ coming from Macro Cosmic Mind known as ‘Hiranyagarbha’. It is the instrument of creational process of Ishvara. So it is All Safe to apply in all

conditions of physical, and mind-psych contingencies. However in this particular case, if the abhyasi is pregnant below 3 months duration, Babuji Maharaj advises, Swamiji to convey, not to initiate. Ladies carrying above three months duration of pregnancy they can be safely initiated in meditation. And, such cases of more than four months of pregnancy, can do meditation till the 9th month; but should not do meditation above that period, because of physical in-convenience. They are advised instead, to read yoga literature; and visualise emotionally, bright, soft, golden hue spreading from their heart to the infant in the womb. I feel much better from continuing meditation with preceptor ( ). I feel the blockages in my stomach and my heart clearing. My head feels a lot clearer and less ‘knotty’! I am benefiting so much from meditation! Sometimes I feel down however and struggle to get back on track. That’s when I make every effort to arrange a one to one session with ( ), who helps me to channel and focus. My breathing settles down and is deeper during meditation, and after my one to one sessions I feel I can let go off the miseries of my earthly longings.

There are certain restrictions in bodily healing methods, massages and certain spiritual practices because of the way the body detoxifies, as the Prana maya kosha (elemental self) is modified or cleaned directly effecting The Anna Maya Kosha (elemental self or physical body). • Experience of restlessness and instability during meditation is only a transitory phenomenon, and due to crossing of some important point on the parabrahmanda mandal region. In fact this sign of restlessness is the psychic dynamo that propels your spiritual progress to further higher stages, that otherwise, would have not been possible.

Received your letter dated 29-12-1949. You have written in it that “The power of sensation regarding my body has almost died”. It is a very good condition. It is called condition of ‘Laya’. In Persian it is called ‘Fana’. It is still going on. After this, if God so wishes, better condition will come. I will let you know, when it comes. I do not want to tell you in advance. Others should not awaken you suddenly at such a time. By awakening all of a sudden, the person feels a shock and develops trouble as the thought, in which he is engrossed drift away suddenly. Any abhyasi should not be awakened all of a sudden. In my case, I begin to suffer from some trouble if any body shakes my bed, even when I am awake. Received your letter dated 8-1-1950. It is written in that “one day when I was doing ‘work’, something like the word ‘Om’ was seen in India”. This feeling is quite correct. It is such a ‘period’ that for ages it (such a period) is hard to come again. The ‘Divine Power’ has descended in its purest form with the help of some great ‘personality’. Its proof is this that if any person may sit at any place and meditate and think that he is having spiritual gain from that personality, in whom the Divine Power has descended in its true form, he will be immediately benefited. Regarding the power of Om, it is just possible that no Mahatma might have come before that. Yes my Guru Maharaj is

an exception to it because, He was the power to create such a power.

What to speak of the power of such a GURU! When this power would descend, the world will exist and all those persons, who will adhere to it will certainly be benefited beyond limit. The manifestation of this ‘Power’ was not in full form and swing in Mahabharat. No doubt it was present in the manner that ‘It’ had full authority for ‘Destruction and Construction’. And at that time a fountain was coming out of that power and was doing ’work’, and hence the battle was not going on with full force. Only that much power was required at that time, but now more ‘Power’ is needed than that. It is the question of world destruction. It may take lot of time. But the process CONSTRUCTION is also to be carried out simultaneously. Some Power will work to annihilate the whole universe on the ‘Dooms-day’. At that time the construction work will come to an end. Sant Tulsi das has written that everybody has to die one day, hence it is useless to study. He should be told that everybody must study for that period during which he is alive. You may yourself clean up this thought. The others will be affected according to that, you will concentrate upon. I may tell you one thing more, Lord Krishna incarnated himself from the spot of ‘Mahamaya’ and our Guru Maharaj has said this somewhere. This is the spot where Maya is very strong in a circular form. She has such a vast power that she can do anything according to her will and so Lord Krishna has such an immense power. This power cannot be equalled by anybody because Lord Krishna incarnated himself in a perfectly matured condition. There is a spiritual point higher than this and only the devotees achieve it; and only the selected people reach there. Lord Krishna had acquired complete mastery at the spot of Mahamaya and His foot was at that spiritual point about which I had mentioned. Now the condition is against this. ‘He’ is a great personality from whom the God is exacting work. God has given ‘Him’ mastery over that condition. According to the call of the time; Lord Krishna had acquired Mastery at the point of

Mahamaya; and now the present personality has mastery on it. After the death of Gandhiji, Shri Arvindo Gosh was asked whether there was ‘Light’ present anywhere India as Gandhiji had passes away? He had replied, ‘There is still light ‘in Northern India”. This clearly shows that some personality is certainly working. Arvind Ghosh is said to be a very good Mahatma and the whole world recognises him. His reach was upto Brahmand Mandal and he was not going forward beyond this, up to this time; but as He had laboured much, He has more electricity in Him. If the people in our mission may do labour at all i.e. if they may move higher themselves and take lesser labour from me. I understand that many a Arvind Gosh would be seen in our mission with in a short period. The power remains under control by constant practice. This point is very high; Lord Krishna had shown to Arjun ‘ His’ expanded form at this very point, but no respect is paid to these points in our Mission; and it has become a very cheap thing. The responsibility of the disrespect shown to these great blessings lies on us, as at first, there is the habit of doing things hurriedly, and secondly there is the aim that the people may progress soon, and thirdly they do not do more work and sacrifice. I want that so far as possible, I may make them somewhat spiritually advanced even in my life time. At least so much be done that some people may not take birth in this world, and even if this may not be possible, they may become capable of progressing in the next birth. One thing is really dear to me and I want for that when anybody develops true faith in God, my heart becomes inclined soon for his spiritual progress. And I do not know what I remain waiting for. I am still not aware of it. If such a thing develops, I stop only when anybody ordains me to stop. Write to me if you are in the know of it, so that I may also know it. I have also one more mania that I should find such a person whom I might give sitting from my that condition which I have achieved by the grace of the Guru. I still crave for that and if anybody rises up to this stage I can not miss the opportunity. But now the craving for this is gone because I certainly got an opportunity. At what time? I got the opportunity when Prakash’s

mother was preparing herself for going to heaven and that too for five or six seconds only. I had given her sitting from ‘Divine-Region’. It did not strike to my mind that I may give her sitting from the higher region than this. After the death, it came to my mind once, but I did not receive a mandate for that. ‘’You are totally correct in writing that Lord Krishna was bestowed “With Power of Destruction”, but He was not given the constriction Power. Atmosphere had grown poisonous during the days of Mahabharat. The responsibility of this was on the Kauravas and other people. They were the main cause, so they were annihilated. Moreover the power they had gained was mis-utilized and that had to be finished. Lord Krishna did all that and finished the Power. Intensity of the force of Lord Krishna was located to the point of India. There was no necessity of going abroad or swimming above it. Now here is the different question. A thorough overhauling on the bones. You will not find so many people in the world as you see today. Intensity of force was for India alone and that was the power required at that times. What else do you want to clarify? As to me jumping in Toto at the spiritual point, is far above than the power of Lord Krishna bestowed at that time. It is far above but it does not mean that power of, Lord Krishna had in body and mind, you have got it. He had force of arms and body. Lord Krishna will give dictation:-

“Zamane Ki khubi ne woh cheez jhalka di Jo mujh me maujud thi

aur us cheez Ko daba diya jis ki ab zaroorat hai! “

(The trend of the times brought to the fore that force, that was present in me and subsided this force which is required at

present. I am under this power whose result is my incarnation). Can anybody call Lord Krishna, as you call? Is there anyone who has such powers? Who can call greater personalities including Lord Krishna? The reply is pregnant in the short sentences of Lord Krishna given above. Do you want anything more for Kasturi? You have correctly written in your book that the atmosphere at present is not as poisonous as during the days of Mahabharat. There the person residing in India having great power made the atmosphere above them course and bad. Here all the people of the world are contributing something black to their surroundings and they are not so powerful as were here during those days” The machinery of the incarnation is moved to the extent it is needed. It can not work beyond that whatever may be the quantum of power, it has no concern but the area or circle of work will remain the same. The ideas of accepting something as real, and rejecting those that are unreal, false or delusory, is all functions of the mind. I am the Pure Intelligence; there is no mind in Me. Therefore, there is no meaning in My accepting anything as real, or rejecting anything as unreal. I alone am the Reality. There is nothing beyond me. These are the words of Great divine sage Narada who

approached Brahma, the creator and prayed to enlighten the mankind, through him, about the mystery of creational process. There are two factors in any creational process viz. material cause (Upadana Karanam), and efficient cause (Nimitta Karnam). This proposition could be explained by following

analogy. For the pot to come into existence two things are needed viz. earthen-mud, and the skill of the potterer, the pot maker. Here these two things i.e. mud and potterer are separate different entities; they are not related.

In another type of analogy of creation, for example in spider and its web, the material cause i.e. the web material and efficient cause the skill for creating the web is one and the same, namely the spider itself. In the same way God is both material and efficient cause, for the creation of entire universe. (6) Swamiji: There cannot be motion and movement (Halchal) without a stagnant base just like seabed supporting the stormy sea waves. Your day to day life of mind of turbulence, with miseries and worries created by thought waves generated by the release of Prarabdha Karma is supported by REALITY Parabrahman, as ‘Nishkalla’ and ‘Kutastha’ the firm-base, by Atman the witness (Sakshi).

• Witness means looking at the events without participating. Stop identifying with mental thoughts; you are free of the effects of events outside. This is ‘Nish-Kama Karma’ i.e. ‘Action-less action’.

• You cannot cease to identify with mental thoughts so-long ‘nature of duality’ (Dwanda-prakruti) is there as ‘Swabhava’ the innate-habitual disposition of mind-psych.

• When sanskars are erased out from the mind it acts as ‘vishudhatma’ a highly purified, and galvanised mirror of mind-psych, which reflects back the focussed glare of consciousness of Atman in its entirety.

• A siddha yogi (Accomplished yogi) intuitively experiences, this wonderful, highly spiritual, awe - inspiring, mystic phenomenon. He is really and literally a walking, talking Parabrahman , the Reality in flesh and blood.

• Sanskaras, the action-reaction micro impressions, are the root cause of dwanda-prakruti. Remove sanskaras, you go-beyond the swabhva, the innate habitual disposition.

• How to remove sanskaras? They are the energy-stuff!

• Meditate at point (B) and erase-out sanskaras by engaging in ‘Reflective Thought Force’ with Master’s Grace of Pranahuti.

• Welcome to IUSCM Ashram, and learn the Technique.

• “There is super consciousness leying between top of the head i.e. Sahasrar-Chekra and the occipital prominence at the back of head”.

• “Centre is God itself, though in imagination one may take the Centre in view to meditate upon.

It is affirming to read the theory contained in the scriptures and to place in context the experiences that arise as an adjunct to the practices. Some examples: Before Swami Venkatesananda took Mahasamahdi on 2nd December, 1982 he often said that if he were to return to an incarnation he would like to do so as a bird. While he was

unlikely to have meant that he would return it was a way of indicating that he would still demonstrate a presence long after the physical body was gone. Meditating each early morning at the yoga centre in recent days a small bird has appeared outside at the window and pecked a few times at the window with its beak as if to greet the meditator. It sounded very much like a knock so eyes were opened and met the gaze of the bird. Laughter bubbled up within. Unlikely coincidences such as this occur with some frequency. Last week leaving work from a town called Moora some 200 km north of Perth it took nearly four hours to drive home to the yoga centre due to congested roads and traffic. Later in that same afternoon Mandy left her work in Cottesloe on the other side of Perth, also driving home through heavy traffic. At the same time her father collected the children from school in another direction and set out to bring them home. Mandy had no way of contacting him and was worried they would reach home first and find the house locked and no-one there due to the traffic. At the bottom of the road near the yoga centre Mandy pulled up, directly behind her, amongst the thousands and thousands of cars and thick traffic was the car driven by myself and directly behind that was the car driven by her father with the children. We all arrived home at the same minute!! Surely this in not explained by calling it coincidence - there is some omnipresent intelligence at work and through no struggle, actionless action, sakshi bhavana, that Intelligence operates to the benefit of all. Finally yesterday we were looking out of the kitchen window and a magnificent Dugite (highly venomous) snake curled out from under the house just feet away form the door and sunned itself on the grass looking directly in at us. There was no fear, only wonder. Master, such experiences are just signposts as you have said before, yet they draw the veil between this world of apparent reality and that invisible realm reminding in the most playful way that duality is naught but a creation of the mind. From this point Master's blessings are the only goal, ephemeral name and fame,
