Established in May 2001 by the governments of Algeria, Brunei, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan and Norway (Observer)

to exploit and to manage natural gas reserves benefit of their nations;
