Established in 2001, Royalty Importers, LLC is a family owned business based in the state of Michigan. Royalty Importers has made a commitment to represent small foreign family owned businesses interested in exporting their products to the United States for distribution to the consumer. Royalty Importers has built relationships using the motto: “Our family representing your family”.

Our company’s focus is to bring high quality products to the US market at reasonable prices. Because these foreign producers do not have representation in the US, we will be the conduit for marketing and importation. Royalty is currently focused on quality wines, olive oils and non-perishable goods from Italy.

In an effort to bring the finest quality wines and olive oils from estate vineyards, we have searched for collaborations from vineyards in more than 16 regions of the Italian peninsula. All of the vineyards we represent produce exceptional DOC and DOCG wines. By insisting that our foreign producers provide quality products, we hope to invigorate the demand for Italian wines and olive oils.

Our staff is focused on providing service, quality and value for the money. We are in the process of developing similar relationships with other Italian producers of non-perishable food products and artisan objects.

Podere Il Saulino

In 1529 Novi Ligure was included in the Republic of Genoa and the Marquese of Sauli became the new owner of lands and estates in Novi Ligure including the estates of Podere il Saulino and Palazzo Sauli. The Sauli family gave to Genoa 29 senators and 3 Doge. At the end of the 19th century the Sauli property became part of the estate of Count Edilio Raggio. In 1970 it was bought by the current owner Giancarlo Ariano. Today the family company is run by Ariano Giancarlo, Ornella and Pierfranco. The estate covers an area of 12 hectars of which 9 are vineyards cultivated exclusively with Cortese grapes.

Viticulture has always been practiced in this area and during the Raggio administration it specialized in the culture of the Cortese grape. This is the grape used to produce Gavi wine which is now a DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin).

The Gavi produced by Podere il Saulino is quite unique due to the fact that the vineyards are positioned facing South-West and are exposed to the sunlight from dawn to dusk. The methods of cultivation and pruning do not allow for large quantities but a reduced amount of stems in order to obtain higher sugar concentration and better quality. No chemicals are used in the vineyards and only natural methods are applied for the preservation and cultivation of the plant. During vinification and bottling all procedures are carried out with the use of sophisticated technology. The wine production is personally taken care of by Giancarlo who is also oenologist.

Winemaking: In stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 40-50 days. It is then preserved in steel tanks at 10°c until bottled. Best drunk young - it peaks after one to two years.

Alcohol: 12.0%

Notes: Light straw yellow with typical green hues of the Cortese grape. Intense, characteristic, very delicate, it recalls the almond. Very fruity. Dry, with balanced acidity and harmonious.

Serving Suggestion: It is delicious as an aperitif. Also complements dishes with fish, shellfish and appetizers. Also with fresh and medium mature cheese. Serve at 10-18° C.

Riofava Gomba

Azienda Agricola Riofava Gomba

The Azienda Agricola Riofava was created by Sergio Gomba, winemaker and owner of Azienda Agricola Gomba, in 2007. Named after the stream which runs through the land, Riofava produces a line of fine Piedmontese wines according to the traditional methods of the area and to the same high standards which have become synonymous with the name Gomba.

The noble wine Barolo (known locally as the king of wines and the wine of kings) heads the list, including a “cru” (selected vineyard) known as “Surì”, which in Piedmontese dialect means “a sunny place”, due to the excellent exposure of the vines to the sun. The range is completed by Nebbiolo (made from the same grape as Barolo) which is a younger, fresher wine, Barbera and Dolcetto d’Alba (which, in spite of the name of the grape, is not sweet), and white wines Roero Arneis, recently promoted to DOCG status, and the sweet Moscato Piemonte.

And of course they are all distinguished by the unmistakable winemaking style of Sergio Gomba, born only from experience and passion for the wines and lands of his heritage.

Vineyard: Production zone: La Torre – Alba (Cuneo) at an altitude of 320 meters. Soil: clay calcareous and a little sandy.

Notes: A magnificent example of wine produced with the grape Barbera. The Barbera grape is the most cultivated species in Piemonte. It can be considered an every day wine, but can also be saved for special occasions. Full, smooth, pleasant and also full bodied. Delicate nose with a strong hint of Morello cherry. Intense ruby red with garnet hues. Dry, full, structured.

Notes: Moscato is the typical aromatic grape in Piemonte. It comes from vineyards located on the hill of Santa Vittoria d’Alba. The soil is calcareous and sandstone and gives it an aromatic scent, typical of Moscato. Pale yellow with golden reflections; Aromatic, intense and fragrant; Sweet; with scent of honey.

Vineyard: The native area of the grape Arneis is located on the left bank of the Tanaro river. This grape dates back to the XV century. In 1989 this area gained the denomination DOC for the Roero Arneis, and was awarded DOCG status in 2005. Production zone: Santa Vittoria d’Alba Cuneo (Piemonte) hill at an altitude of 340 meters. Soil: Sandstone and calcareous.

Winemaking: Manual harvesting of grape selection. Pressing – removal of grape stalks. Refrigeration and must filtration at a controlled temperature.

Notes: Lighter bodied, dry with notes of tart limes.

It was in 1952 when the winemaking potential of this area (located on the Piave river) permitted Spinato’s wines to become amazing. Thanks to an enthusiastic beginning, the winery that was established by Anna’s grandfather has continued to grow in and has become a national panorama.

Today the company is driven by Anna making use of two winemakers and consultants of international experience. With these two new people, young and enterprising, we have introduced innovative technology and more accurate controls in all the productive processes, enabling the company to face not only the Italian market, but more importantly the international market. They can now more comprehensively give the palates of the world what they desire; high quality wine with characteristics linked to the territory but at the same time give consumer satisfaction.

The company today is promoting not only wines from its own territory such as Prosecco DOC, Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG, and red Malanotte Raboso Superiore Piave DOCG, but also international wines which spread from Veneto to Friuli region and from Trentino Alto Adige to Tuscany. We are convinced this is the right road to take, not without any great sacrifices, however our satisfaction will be achieved every time you taste our great wines.

Vineyard: The ground composition is light soil rich in texture. Farming method and principal crop Gujot with rigorous winter pruning and clear action on the vegetation for control of production and leaf apparatus. Defense against pests according to the dictates of modern integrated control and special attention to soil management and irrigation.

Winemaking: Manual harvest from early September onwards. Pressing the fractional whole grapes by pressing soft-lung air. Temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in stainless steel.

Alcohol: 12.0%

Notes: A nice bright yellow, persistent with intense aromas of citrus and tropical fruit. Full and slightly tangy, mineral traces, banana and Yellow Delicious apple. It will leave a great memory such as an evening in excellent company.

Vineyard: Ground composition: Plots very light and rich texture. Farming method and principal cultivation: vineyards in rows, treatments only when necessary to intervene if absolutely necessary during maturation.

Winemaking: Harvest: Manual in mid-September. After natural fermentation, autoclave the froth, prolonged for at least five weeks. At bottling, the residual sugar content is determined to get the value of extra dry.

Alcohol: 11.0%

Notes: Soft and compact foam with a fine and persistent perlage. Yellow pale color with green lights. Mineral and fruity fragrances, grapefruit and peach. Fresh acidity reminiscent of the Kaiser pear. Refreshing and subtly sweet.

Serving Suggestion: Medallions of lobster with baby artichokes and fresh caprese salad.

The Fraccaroli vineyard is located south of Lake Garda in the Veneto region of Italy. This beautiful vineyard was established in 1912, and is still managed by the same family. Now in its fifth generation of winemakers, Fraccaroli celebrated its 100th anniversary in June of 2012.

From the very beginning the Fraccaroli family concentrated on viniculture, choosing the terrain for the vineyards carefully. Originally there were 5 hectares of vineyards today there are almost 50, most of which produce the Turbiano (Trebbiano) di Lugana.

For the past 10 years the vineyard has undergone a methodical program of technological improvements. These improvements have created a state of the art production and bottling facility, while at the same time preserving the time honored wine-making traditions and methods of harvesting and control of the vinification process established by the founders. This respect for tradition and the vintner’s touch in the wine-making process, along with the careful attention of the oenological characteristics and integrity of the varietals, has produced wines of superb character and taste.

The Fraccaroli brothers are also stewards of the environment, use of chemicals is not part of their regime. Theirs is a vineyard which uses only sustainable agricultural methods with carefully controlled use of organic products to enhance what the earth gives to the vines. The outcome of this careful attention to both the varietals and environment is the production of wines which have consistently won top awards in their classes.

Fraccaroli

Producer: F.lli Fraccaroli

Varietal: 100% Malvasia

Region: Veneto

Vineyard: Small allotment at the boundary with the Trebbiano vineyards, in the area between Peschiera del Garda, and Sirmione. Type of calcareous – clay soil.

Winemaking: Separation from grape-stalks, maceration with peels and enzymes for 24 hours, soft pressing. Partially fermented with still residual sugars, it is placed in a wine storage tank in order to obtain with a Charmat method (about 2 months). The fermentation is inactivated when 4-5 atmosphere are reached.

Alcohol: 12.0%

Notes: The straw-yellow color is interrupted by the pleasant greenish reflection that signal a fresh and exciting taste to follow. The perfume, gives one a recollection of the yellow pulp fruit that is not completely ripe. Vineyard: Small plot of land at the boundary with the vineyards of Trebbiano, in the area between Peschiera del Garda, and Sirmione; calcareous and clay soil. Growing system is simple or double, short Guyot.

Winemaking: Thanks to the influence of the lake (fog at night and sun during the day), the temperature, the humidity the grapes are struck by “Botrytis cinerea” (noble mold). With continuous care the grapes are manually harvested late, so as to finish their withering on special trellis. Once they are pressed, fermentation in stainless steel begins. The wine finishes the fermentation in wood after the required alcoholic degree is reached. It is refined for at least 12 months in small oak and acacia barrels and at least 4 months in the bottle. This wine can be stored up to 2 additional years after it is released in the market and the exquisite flavors are sustained several months after opening

The history of VILLA ERBICE begins some time ago when Great Grandfather Narciso was born in 1870 and started producing wine. The family started to produce high quality wines exclusively from grapes cultivated in their own property. Today the whole family is involved in the company, particularly the two brothers Silvio and Alberto.

Today VILLA ERBICE counts over 15 hectares of vineyards located in the Val di Mezzane at about 20 km East from Verona. The land is gravelly with 17% active limestone, almost at the consented limit for vine cultivation. Here, where the landscape alone is of great value, the Erbice brothers draw their inspiration. A combination of soil, climate, vegetation and man’s hard work and dedication all complementing each other. Finally the wine is the expression of the magical combination of all these elements.

As a company policy all manipulations and processing are minimised with maximum respect for natural balance and harmony. Albert and Silvio are committed a constant research and experimentation both in the vineyards and in the cellar. They also rediscover ancient methods and practices which have sometimes been replaced in favour of modern and innovative methods which they believe are arguable.

After 20- 25 days they are lightly pressed and the wine obtained is left to refine in barriques for 24 months. Bottles are refined for at least ten months before being put on sale.

Notes: Intense, full, long-lasting, soft and balanced. Only 800 cases produced.

Vineyard: Pergola Veronese and Guyot, at 220-250 meters on the sea level; Exposure North/East-South; The soil is limestone, shallow with presence of stones and pebbles. Density of 3100-4400 vines per hectare. Year of plantation: 1978-1989; Yield average 40 Hl/ha.

Winemaking: The selected grapes are harvested by hand, placed in small crates and dried following the traditional method without any kind of forcing, in special places called “Fruttai”. At the end of February or the beginning of March, the grapes are crushed and traditionally fermented at low temperature with spontaneous fermentation. After 35-40 days they are lightly pressed and the wine obtained is left to refine in barriques for 24 months. Bottles are refined for at least six months before being put on sale.

Alcohol: 13.5%

Notes: The color is a deep red with violet reflections. The fragrance is intense with hints of ripe fruit, marasca cherry and cherry in alcohol. The taste is full and harmonious, with a balanced sweet sensation. This can be considered a sweet dessert red. Only 500 cases produced.

Serving Suggestion: This is an excellent wine for meditation and goes well with traditional dry desserts, but also with matured or fermented cheeses served with vegetables or fruit in spicy sauces. Suggested serving temperature is 16° - 18° C.

Branko

The small region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia borders with Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. It is the realm of Italy’s new-style white wine. On this side of the Alps the climate is unique. The land is exposed to the sun and sheltered from the damp cold of northern Europe.

The Azienda Agricola Branko is situated in the D.O.C. area of Collio Goreziano. It is a hilly land with terraced slopes with sandy and marl soil. Here the microclimate is strongly influenced by the crossed currents between the Adriatic sea and the Alpine mountains.

Branko started its wine production in 1998 when oenologist Igor Erzetic took over the winery as managing director. Since then Igor has been on the move drawing up plans for renewing the vineyards, planting new varieties of grapes, terracing the slopes, restructuring the plant and the equipment. Today the estate stretches on a land only four times larger than the original one hectare, but this allows the vines and the wine to be tended with the greatest care for detail. Branko wines are well balanced, of exceptional elegance, complexity and character.

Fermentation at controlled temperature of 18 °C. 40% is fermented and aged for 7 months in stainless steel tank; 60% is fermented and aged for 7 months in French wooden barrels of 500 liters. Maturing in a wooden cask, the wine is enriched with a flavor complexity that well interpenetrates the genetic olfactory characteristics. With bottle age it gives a feeling of softness, structure and fulfillment.

Winemaking: Soft pressing immediately after hand harvesting in a temperature controlled environment. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 18° C. Tocai Friulano is a grape indigenous to the Collio region. It is a late harvest varietal due to the mild temperatures in this region. The Tocai grape when mature has a golden yellow color with small dots (the size of lentils) of blackish color. The harvesting is done by hand, carefully handling the clusters to avoid bruising. After a soft pressing in a temperature controlled environment, the must is brought down to a temperature of 8°C. After 48 hours, appropriate yeasts are added to encourage the fermentation process. 95% of the must is fermented and aged in large stainless casks, while the remaining 5% is fermented and aged in French oak barrels holding approximately 400 liters each. The process lasts through the end of January when both are brought together and blended before bottling. The wine is then allowed to finish or rest for 4 months before shipping.

Alcohol: 14.0%

Notes: The Tocai Friulano, now referred to as Friulano presents a beautiful, delicate straw-like color and the nose signals its fine elegant taste. On the palate one senses a hint of almond, ripened pear and white flowers. Crisp clean taste envelopes the palate and the finish leaves a lingering luscious hint of almond. The persistent rich flavor shows great structure, fullness and speaks to its complexity.

Serving Suggestion: A great accompaniment to seafood dishes and lightly seasoned veal and chicken dishes. Great as an aperitif or just for sipping. Serve in tall white wine glass with a wider bowl. Do not over chill.

Notes: Due to percentage of grapes, according to U.S. standards, it is classified as a Merlot. This wine reminds us of berry fruits such us raspberry and blackberry and also has the elegant scent of cherry. It is a young fruity wine, to which the aging in French oak has added softness and grace, perfectly balancing the two grapes. The freshness of this wine heightens its weight: it is ample, robust and generous. Ideal to be drunk young but can surely become a wine for aging.

Azienda Agricola La Cipriana

La Cipriana is situated on the slopes of the town of Castagneto Carducci, property of the Fabiani brothers, vine-growers since 1975. The vineyards are from 7 to 30 years old with a density of plantation extended from 5.000 to 6.000 vine stocks per hectare. The cultivation system is the spurred cordon. The structure, born from the transformation of a stable, is situated in the countryside, surrounded by vineyard and olive groves, facing the medieval town of Castagneto Carducci. The wine cellar of the firm is totally underground to assure a perfect temperature for the operations of vinification and aging. The grapes, exclusively of the firm's property, are vinified in concrete tanks with controlled temperature.

La Cipriana, which is a member of the association Consorzio Bolgheri DOC, is helped in the control of the estate and of the wine cellar by external experts, the oenologist Alberto Antonini and the agronomist Stefano Bartolomei.

The hospitality of La Cipriana gives the possibility of enjoying the wonderful view of vineyard, olive groves and Mediterranean scrub, in tranquillity and in harmony with nature; the sea, with its beaches and pinewoods, is only 4 Km away.

The comune of Montalcino is located 40 kilometres south of Siena. It is like an island in the heart of Tuscany, and offers to those who enter through the surrounding hills a feeling of a gradual conquest. Perhaps it is because of its unique geographical position or perhaps because of the environment, still intact and wild, that Montalcino provides a host of stimuli for the imagination. Passing through characteristic villages and thick woods, the traveller will discover its well-tended vineyards. Certainly the best image of Montalcino is revealed primarily by its wine, the most precious gift of a land that is both hard and generous. The climate is typically Mediterranean and fundamentally mild during the entire vegetative cycle assuring the gradual and complete ripening of the grape clusters. This wine is the result of a tenacious dedication and of loving watchfulness of its winemakers.

The Rubegni family bought the La Vigna estate in 1958 and have been wine makers for generations. This estate is situated on the eastern side of the Montalcino hill. The 4 hectare vineyards of Sangiovese are partly 27 years old, partly more recently planted and gradually starting to be productive. The cellar, recently expanded & updated, is managed with the support of oenologist Dr. Paolo Vagaggini. The property also includes olive groves which produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is also one of the very few cattle–breeding farms of the area for the local species Chianina.

Set in the breathtaking Chianti countryside, Sticciano country estate is not far away from the medieval towns of Certaldo and San Gimignano. The estate spreads over 170 hectares, part of which are vineyards part are olive groves and the rest is covered in thick woodlands rich in age-old trees. The estate produces wine and extra-virgin olive oil obtained exclusively by grapes and olives cultivated within the property. The Sticciano Estate, with its rural buildings is also a holiday country house preserved in the finest Tuscan tradition.

Sticciano country estate is a historical country house dating back to the seventeenth century with a long wine-making history: this is well documented in some papers dating back to 1815. However, Sangiovese was probably produced even before then, in the ancient cellar adjoining the villa. Today the wines are aged in the same cellar as three centuries ago.

Azienda Agricola Tiberini

The Azienda Agricola Tiberini is a family run business where wine making methods over a hundred years old are still practiced Over all, they believe traditional methods produce great wines when practiced with love and care.

The Tiberini family reside at Le Caggiole estate since 1896. The estate is located in the district of Montepulciano and lies over 22 hectares of land, 13.55 of which are vineyards of specialised cultivation. This area is renowned for its production of prestigious wines. The soil is tufaceous and clayey, situated at 300-320 mt. above sea level and exposed to West-South-West. The vine cultivation is left to its natural course of maturation with minimum manipulation. The wines are produced with traditional methods and a total dedication and respect for the land and its fruits, thus enhancing their typical qualities and characteristics.

From 1985 Tiberini started working on an “Integration” project with the use of a Meteorological Sensor which helps limit the use of chemical products. This device in fact anticipates the forming of parasites, molds and other fungi with great accuracy. With their work the Tiberini family look to achieve the best quality.

Malolactic fermentation in temperature controlled tanks prior to the aging in wood. Aged in 500 liters Tonneaux of Allier and Nevers oak during the first 8 months, then another 22 months in 34 hl. French Allier oak casks. Refined about 3 months in bottle.

Vineyard: With the Riserva Vigneto Campaccio, the winery means to express the wonderful characteristics of this small vineyard, perfectly exposed to the sun with an ideal micro climate. The soil is volcanic and rich in minerals. The grapes growing from this soil are particularly rich in soft and ripe tannins.

Winemaking: Harvest: The wine is produced only in years of excellent quality grapes. These are normally hand harvested in mid October, selecting the best grapes from this single vineyard of 0.87 hectars. Aging: Normally in 500lt and in 25 hl French and Slovenian oak barrels for about 40 to 42 months, depending on the different vintages and on the characteristics of the wine. Refinement: The wine is left in the bottle for 8 to 10 months.

Alcohol: 14.0%

Notes: Ruby red with garnet highlights. Its bouquet reminds of ripe and red berries. Full bodied and robust, round, with good structure. Well balanced and harmonious with soft tannins and good acidity.

Vineyard: This wine, that represents the traditions of our land, reveals a maximum of personality, according to our wine-producing conception.

Winemaking: After a cold pre-maceration stage comes an alcoholic fermentation, in 50 hl cement tanks at a controlled temperature with frequent repassings and light pressings of the skins to draw polyphenols and anthocyanin. Aging in wood is normally done in 500 l and in 25 hl French oak barrels of different origin (Allier, Vosges) for about 40 to 42 months, this allows the best maturation of the wine and not to print the wine with the oak, according to vintages and to the characteristics of the product. Before being put in the market the wine is aged and refined for 8 to 10 months in bottle.

Alcohol: 14.0%

Notes: Ruby red in color, tending to garnet; its bouquet reminds of ripe and red berries with a slight scent of “Coscia di Monaca”, the typical plum of Montepulciano. Its aroma can be detected a light trace of spices, tobacco and pepper. The taste is full-bodied and robust, round, well-balanced, with a hint of tannin and important acidity.

Vineyard: This wine, that represents the traditions of our land, reveals a maximum of personality, according to our wine-producing conception.

Winemaking: A very careful selection of the grapes from the vineyard of Podere le Caggiole that are called “fossatone” and “campaccio” at harvest time. The grapes after a soft squeezing and the stripping of their stalks, are vinified in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of fermentation of 30° C. The fermentation on the skins lasts 28 days in order to obtain soft tannins. After the wine is transferred in a controlled temperature environment to induce the malolactic fermentation. In 500 liters Tonneaux of Allier and Nevers oak during the first 8 months, then a further 8 months in 500 litre Tonneaux of Nevers oak. After the wine will stay for 6 months in bottle for maturation.

Alcohol: 14.0%

Notes: Austere with strong violet reflections with vigorous tones and brilliance. Immediate sensation of vanilla and sweet, ripe fruits. It clearly recalls the perfume of the “coscia di monaca”, a type of small sweet prune, typical of the Montepulciano area. Thick, almost chewy. Warm with well balanced sweet tannins giving it strength and vigor. Extremely pleasing to the palate and very persistent. Potential aging of 15 to 20 years depending on the vintage.

Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with savoury meats and steak. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a meditation wine. Uncork 2 hours before serving and decanting is suggested.

The activity of the F.lli De Luca starts in 1970 from the passion and love for grapes and vines of Uncle Remo and Papà Nunziato. The 2 hectares of vineyards, planted and cultivated with great care soon became 22 and are now managed by the competence, professionality and renewed passion of the two brothers Luciano and Remo. The most fertile and fruitful inheritance received from Remo and Nunziato is the great passion for vine growing and the love of their territory which are reflected in the modern and efficient management of the family company which aims at high profile results with ethical procedures.

The hills in the area of Mozzagrogna represents the perfect habitat for the vine cultivation. Already two centuries ago the Count Genoino from Castel di Septe guessed the virtues of this small but enchanting strip of Hither Abruzzi. He therefore had his residence built and also initiated a tradition which today is interpreted by the talented De Luca brothers.

Luciano and Remo have selected autochtonous and international vines, implanting with modern methods high density rows with low yield, and operating with respect for the environment and landscape. This is the high level procedure carried forward for the production of top quality wines of the Castel di Septe line which enclose rich aromas and unrepeatable scents.

Vineyard: Clay, medium calcareous, sub alkaline. Mediterranean, characterized by strong thermic excursions caused by the nearby Maiella mountains.

Winemaking: The grapes are hand harvested in mid October and selected from vineyards located in the province of Chieti. They are chosen for their ideal exposure. The grapes are washed and pressed. They undergo a 24 hour pellicular maceration and then yeast is added with no pressure applied. After the fermentation at controlled temperature, the wine rests on the sediment for about 120 days. It is finally bottled.

Winemaking: The grapes are hand harvested in mid October. The grapes are hand washed and pressed. Yeast is then added. The maceration lasts for 15 days at controlled temperature with light pressing at the end. After a short natural decantation the wine rests in stainless steel tanks for 180 days.

Alcohol: 13.0%

Notes: The color is a lively ruby red with violet hues. It has immediate scent of sour cherry and ripe fruit. The freshness introduced to the nose is followed through in the mouth sustained by the body and strength of the tannins.

Serving Suggestion: Pair with savory dishes like roasts and seasoned cheeses and sausages. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.

Notes: Straw yellow; notes of white peaches; fresh and full taste with citrus and grapefruit. This is an ancient revived grape of the region. Drinks like a Sauvignon Blanc and is very aromatic.

Notes: Di Ré means “of the King” to indicate the high quality of this wine. It is also the initials of the names of Grandma Dina and Grandpa Remo, who first started to believe in the potential of their region to produce quality wines. This is the flagship wine of De Luca. After 35-40 days the must is pressed and the wine fermented and then aged in Tonneau for 18 months. It refines in bottle for at least 6 months before it is released in the market. Production: 4.000 bottles (about 660 cases).

The bottles can be stored for aging for even more than 10 years.

Notes: Characteristics with a broad and complex bouquet, Likos is a richly textured wine and with a firm tannic structure. The palate is initially dry, then intense and aromatic with delicate cherry and berry notes. The aroma is persistent and ends with a lovely note of licorice. With the years it will develop softer tannins and more silky texture.

Mastrodomenico

Mastrodomenico family has grown grapes from 5 generations. They formerly supplied high quality grapes, known as the best of Vulture land to big wineries, in and out of Basilicata. Wine was made just for fun, friends, and relatives. A very good wine, but for a few people! Over time, the wine gained admires elsewhere, thus Donato and Giuseppe decided to give a label to their product. It was 2004 when the first Aglianico del Vulture branded Mastrodomenico was issued on the market. Just 1000 bottles, sold out in a couple of months. With the years the quantity increased: 2000, then 5000, up to 30.000.

Our vineyards are placed in a windy hill overlooking a breathtaking landscape on the slopes of Mount Vulture, an antique extinct volcano. The core of our wine farm, boasting a tuffy soil and a windy weather which guarantee high quality grapes every. There are no vintages equal to each other and we won’t do anything to make it happen: nature must be respected.

Aglianico is a tardive variety and requires the utmost care. Usually harvested in October, it’s brought to our cellar soon after for processing.

Vigne Mastrodomenico is the first Italian winery who decided to join an European consortium who developed a pilot to trace all our products from Vineyards to the bottle. It’s a challenging project, funded by European Union and involving many partners - Universities and Companies - and several producers. Our winery has been selected be-cause of our variegated traceability needs (different quality of the wine depending on the soil parameters), the high quality of our final products (justifying the investment) and our very strong motivation. The consumer will be able through a QR code to read data such as Date of harvest, how long the wine aged in wood, when it was bottled, what is the track made by grapes from vineyards to the cellar. And for demanding consumers, also the vintage history through all pedoclimatic conditions prior to the harvest. All data are collected by a Wireless sensors networks spread all around the vineyards and the cellar. We’re proud to use modern technology to communicate that our wines are made with genuineness!

Podere Angelini

Poderi Angelini was created in 1998, when Antonio Angelini decided to set up an important project in the field of the winemaking. Since 1998 Poderi Angelini never stopped growing. Today Poderi Angelini covers 105 hectares (85 ha are covered by vineyards and 20 by oliveyards.) The vineyards are located in Manduria, the ancient stronghold of the Messapii and benefit from their position very close to the Mediterranean sea (approximately 5 km away.)

Podere Angelini’s mission is to grow top-quality grapes that are destined to make great wines expressing the outstand-ing characteristics of one of Italy’s top wine-producing regions: Salento. The company constantly improves its working methods, investing in winemaking plant, research, training and the overall growth of our human resources. They strive to establish relationships with all of our customers based on mutual trust, dialogue and friendship, in order to continue our growth both in Italy and in foreign markets. Vineyard: Established 1998, by Antonio Angelini who decided to carry on the family tradition of winemaking, covering several hectares of land growing top quality grapes as well as olive groves. Harvest is done by hand. Located in one of Italy’s top wine-producing areas: Salento (the peninsula dividing the Adriatic sea from the Ionian sea, also known as the “heel” of Italy.) The vineyards are situated in Manduria, close to the coast, where the grapes are exposed to constant sunlight and gentle breezes, which give the wines the unmistakable imprint of this territory. Soil: clay, limestone and chalk; system of cultivation: Espalier

Winemaking: The grapes are picked when well ripe. The wine is matured in stainless steel vats.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Notes: An elegant wine, with refined scents of ripe fruit

Villa Di Quartu

VILLA DI QUARTU is the ancient toponym of Quartu SantíElena, a town in the South of Sardinia coming out from a rural village built during the Giudicate period.Villa di Quartu was established in 1994. The name chosen by the firm, underlines the sentimental and cultural bond with the territory. Our 24 hectares of vineyard are situated on the hills in the Southern Campidano; with calcareous, argillaceous and sandy soils. The winegrowing follows the traditional system of low-tree, with of about 60 quintals per hectare.

The types mostly present are those typical of the area of Campidano. The variety of white grapes produced are: Nuragus, Vermentino, Moscato, Malvasia, Nasco. The variety of red grapes produced are: Monica, Cannonau, Barbera, and Bovale. Harvesting begins when the grapes reach the expected grade of ripeness: the grapes are carefully carried out by hand, selected put into special boxes and conveyed to the family winery in Quartu.

Our wine cellars have the most advanced technologies such as soft press, refrigeration system, bottling machines and the absolute respect of the raw materials. After the proper refinement, the wine is ready to be sold. The importance of the respect for the relationship between mankind and nature, allow us to focus on quality of products instead of the quantity.

Winemaking: Harvesting by hand usually in the first 15 days of October, when the grapes, packed into special boxes, come intact to the winery where they are picked from the bunch, crushed and kept under a steady temperature of 20 ° 22 ° with three delay raising of the must fermentation. Winemaking: Harvested by hand, it starts in the first half of September and ends in the first 15 days of October when grapes have reached the expected grade of sugary content. Vinification: Grapes, packed into special boxes, come to the winery where they are wine made with mastery. Fermentation: under controlled temperature in steel tanks. Refinement: the wine is decanted and kept under controlled temperature.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Notes: Its color is pale yellow with golden brilliant glints; its smell presents floral notes which recall citrus and almond - its flavor is full-body but fresh, persistent and well balanced.

Serving Suggestion: Starters based on fish, first courses with fish, interesting with salami, cold pork meat and soft cheeses.

Winemaking: The black grapes, packed into special boxes, come intact to the winery where they are picked from the bunch, pressed and kept under a steady temperature, with three daily mixings until the end of the fermentation. Then the must is separated from the dregs of pressed grapes and kept in steel tanks for a year.

Alcohol: 14.0%

Notes: Intense red color with violet overtones. Dry, warm, full in flavor and lingering. It is intensely fragrant with hints of preserved cherries and little fruits. The Cannonu grape is linked to good health and aids in longevity.

Serving Suggestion: It pairs well with roasted meat and cheeses. To be served at 16 to 20 C.
