INTRODUCTION• Date Of Survey : 3rd November ’16• Place :• Market in front of Bharat Talkies, near Bhopal Junction Railway Station.• Patra Bridge , Galla Mandi Road.
Market survey of PVC materials used in building construction was done at various shops located at the above mentioned places which includes the list of local market rates.• Attachments : Brochures• We went in a team of three members to conduct the survey at various
places but noted our own individual observations and collected brochures.

PLUMBING FIXTURES
BROCHURES OF DIFFERENT BRANDS WERE COLLECTED SHOWING THE DIMENSIONS AND COSTS OF VARIOUS PIPES,FITTINGS SUCH AS ELBOW,COUPLING,BEND ETC.
THERE ARE VARIOUS TYPES OF PLUMBING FIXTURES AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET SUCH AS TRAPS, FITTINGS USED FOR VARIOUS PURPOSES.
PIPES
CPVC For hot and cold water.It is yellow in colour.
UPVC For cold water only.It is white in colour.
SWR For soil waste & rain water. It is grey in colour.
PIPES COME IN VARIOUS SHAPES AND SIZES.BASED ON THE LENGTH,THICKNESS AND THE DIAMETER OF THE PIPE,THE QUALITY AND COST OF PIPE IS DECIDED. THEY ARE USED FOR VARIOUS PURPOSES SUCH AS SOIL,WASTE,DISTRIBUTION OR COLLECTING RAINWATER.PVC IS THE MOST COMMONLY USED MATERIAL AND IT IS EFFECTIVELY REPLACING THE TRADITIONAL MATERIALS.

GRANITE
• In the market granite pieces are sold based on the requirements of the user. There are no specific sizes used but the pieces are cut and chiselled based on the dimensions given. The prices start from rupees 20 per square feet to rupees 300 per square feet based on the quality and thickness. They come in different finishings and colours. Separate mouldings of different shapes are also used at the edges of granite pieces if required which cost rupees 40 per running feet extra charges.

MARBLE• In the market granite pieces are sold based on the requirements of the user.
There are no specific sizes used but the pieces are cut and chiselled based on the dimensions given. There are various types having different rates:

BRICK BAT TILES
• Flat Brick Tiles should confirm specifications as per IS-1077-1992 and must be homogeneous in texture.
• Providing and laying integral cement based water proofing treatment including preparation of surface as required for treatment of roofs ,balconies , terrace etc.
Water proofing with Brick bat Coba by exposing the RCC slab to its bare surface Clearing the surface of all Lose particles and dust, Carting away of debris and spreading neat cement slurry mixed with waterproofing compound on the cleaned surface, filling up the uneven surface, honey combing etc. Spreading of CM(1:5) mix, mixed with water proofing compound and grouting brick bat in the mortar with necessary slope of approx. 1 in 100 for easy flow of water. Filling the joints in the bricks with the mortar properly. This treatment to continue along the inner side of the parapet or other adjoining wall up to a height of 30cm in the shape of a round Vatta and finally converting the top surface with jointless waterproofing cement sand mortar 1:4, 20 to 25mm thick finished smooth with trowel in cement colour marked into 30cms * 30cms false squares. The average thickness of complete treatment shall be 100mm. Curing to be continuously done for surface.
BRICK BAT TILES
OTHER MATERIALS SUCH AS CERAMIC,WOOD AND VITRIFIED TILES ARE MORE COMMONLY USED FOR VARIOUS PUPOSES AND COME IN VARIOUS COLOURS,SIZES AND DESIGNS.
