Thirty one new tools have been developed for the All New S40, Model Year 2004.5. The new tools willalso apply to the V50 which will be introduced later this year. All tools have been classified asmandatory and will be allocated by SPX in two shipments during February and March 2004.

9512896 HoseHose for draining fuel from the fuel tank via thetank filler pipe.This hose is specially developed for insertion inthe tank filler pipe and passes through the"Spitback" valve.Used together with approved fuel drainingequipment for fuel driven cars, protective pipe9512908 and quick release connector9512909.

9512897 JawThese jaws are used for R&I of rear springs onthe new S40 and V50. Packed in pairs, theJaws are used with hydraulic spring compressor9512911 and hydraulic press tool kit 9512564(See Special Tool Bulletin 96 and 96-C).

The jaws come with 2 protective inserts,necessary to prevent damage to the specialanti-rust coating on the springs. These insertshave the same specifications as Klann InsertKL-1503-S.

Note! These jaws replace earlier jaws951 2897. Jaws 9512897 are necessary tocarry out the method correctly.

9512899 C EM-AdapterBreakout box adapter for fault-tracing in thecentral electronic module (CEM). 256 pinsdivided on 8 connectors.

9512902 ECM-AdapterBreakout box adapter and cover plate for fault-tracing in the engine control module (ECM).The cover plate seals against the air intake andprevents dirt and dust from entering when fault-tracing.The cover plate is also available asreplacement part 9989778.

9512955 CoverThis cover connects to the cooling systemexpansion tank and is used together withcoolant filler 9512957.The cover is also used when pressurizing thecooling system.


9512957 Coolant FillerWhen filling coolant in the cooling system.The vacuum based coolant filling tool isnecessary for complete bleeding of the coolingsystem. The tool also reduces coolant fillingtime.Use with cap 9512955.
