Duncan Peace, Managing DirectorCrondall Energy

Duncan has spent the majority of his 30+ years’ experience in the oil and gas business working on the design, construction, installation and operation of floating production and storage units.

A Naval Architect with a Masters Degree in Offshore Engineering, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, he initially gained project experience with major contracting organisations such as Brown and Root and John Brown, before joining FPSO contractor Navion in Norway during the late 90’s as Commercial VP.

Following the sale of Navion’s FPSO business, Duncan returned to the UK to found Crondall Energy, and has lead the growth of the Company from start-up to its current position as a market leading multi-discipline floater consultancy.

Duncan is an acknowledged global expert in the FPSO market, and continues to combine his leadership role with strategic consulting activities with major oil companies, contractors and banks.

Dave Hartell, Senior Development Manager, Sea LionPremier Oil

Dave has more than thirty-nine (39) years of onshore and offshore oil and gas developments experience including facilities engineering, construction, installation, project management, and production operations. His developments experience has ranged from onshore remote locations to offshore deepwater locations. He has more than twenty-nine (29) years of international experience working with national energy companies, energy ministries, and governmental regulators. He has been responsible for managing subsurface asset, drilling and completion, and production operations teams. Mr. Hartell has presented papers at international conferences in Brazil, U.K., United States, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Korea. Dave received his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Civil Engineering degrees from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Puneet Sharma, Vice President, Atlantic FPSO Project Development GroupMODEC

Puneet currently holds the position of Vice President at MODEC INTERNATIONAL and manages MODEC’s Atlantic FPSO Project Development Group in Houston which includes engineering, procurement, project controls and operations support. Prior to this, Puneet ran his own consultancy IRIS LLC, as well as directed Topsides Conceptual Designs and FEEDs at Berwanger. Puneet has also managed an oil and gas process technology department at Foster Wheeler. With over 25 years in the business, Puneet has held various roles in management, engineering and business developments for projects ranging from $10 million to $1.8 billion.

Puneet’s unique working background across almost all phases of oil and gas projects for both EPC contractors and vessel operators on almost every continent and climate has given him extensive project management experience.

Jerry Joynson, Director for Proposals and Technology Development in Kuala LumpurSBM Offshore

Jerry is an innovator and problem solver, focused on bringing game-changing solutions to the upstream oil industry. He is working on the next generation of production solutions for the world’s largest floating production systems. Jerry is a graduate of Chemical Engineering, from Loughborough University in the UK, and a Chartered Engineer. He has been working at SBM Offshore for the last 13 years, and has been based in Kuala Lumpur since 2010.

Jeffrey A. Sim, Chief Technical OfficerYinson Production

Jeff has spent the early days of his career with engineering contractors designing drilling rigs for various environments around the world including ice platforms, Hercules transportable rigs, helicopter transportable rigs, fifth generation semisubmersible drilling rigs and fixed platform rigs for the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. After a number of years working for a few companies on both sides of the Atlantic, Jeff moved to Singapore with one of the leading FPSO contractors. Twelve years and more than 10 FPSO projects later, Jeff joined Yinson Production as Chief Technical Officer responsible for all tendering, engineering and project execution.

Chris Brett, Vice President, LegalTeekay Petrojarl AS

Chris has a mix of legal, commercial and management experience developed with leading companies such as Origin Energy, Shell, Maersk Contractors and since 2011 as Vice President of Legal in Teekay Petrojarl. Chris’ FPSO experience began with Maersk Contractors as a senior projects lawyer and then as Chief Commercial Officer with exposure to a number of exciting projects in the North Sea, Brazil, Australia and West Africa. Chris heads up Teekay Petrojarl’s legal team but continues to be involved in the negotiation of new contracts and disputes as well as being a director in Teekay Petrojarl’s joint venture company with Odebrecht Oil & Gas of Brazil. Chris has a law degree from the Australian National University and executive management training from IMD and Harvard Business School.

Eirik Barclay, CEOYinson Production

Eirik Barclay was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Yinson Production in January 2014 following the acquisition of Fred. Olsen Production ASA, where Eirik had been the CEO since January 2012, by the Yinson Group. Eirik has worked in the offshore oil industry since 1999, having previously held the positions of CEO of Songa Floating Production and VP, Business Development of BW Offshore. Eirik started his career with Schlumberger Oilfield Services working as a Field Engineer before moving on to work for Aker Kvaerner Process Systems.

Eirik holds a Master of Engineering degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway and a Master in Energy Management from ESCP/IFP in Paris and BI in Oslo.

Andrew Lamshed, Senior Vice President, Floating Production SystemsBumi Armada

Andrew Day Lamshed is Senior Vice President, Floating Production Systems and is currently responsible for the sales and marketing, technology contract structuring and financing aspects of the Floating Production Systems division. He joined Bumi Armada in October 2006 and has over 25 years of experience, predominantly in the O&G industry. He started his career in capital equipment manufacturing, with roles in engineering and sales of large rotating equipment to the major oil companies. He then progressed through various project engineering, asset consulting, project management and project development roles with Fluor Corporation, Melbourne, Australia and Clough Engineering Ltd, Perth, Australia. He was appointed as the Project Director of the OMV Maari project with Clough Engineering Ltd prior to joining Bumi Armada. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mechanical) from Ballarat College of Advanced Education in Australia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Monash University in Australia

Christophe is currently the FPSO project manager for the Kaombo project. Christophe graduated from the French naval academy and has a background as a naval officer and naval architect. Christophe’s last three appointments include the follow-up of non-operated projects (Ichthys, Shah Deniz 2012-2013), SURF Manager on the USAN project from 2009-2012 and Construction Mnaager for Total E&P Angola from 2006-2009.

Kamal Karthik, with 22 years of Experience in FPSO’s ,On shore and offshore Oil & gas Industry and has a wide experience In relation to Estimating / Contracts / Project / Construction / Proposals / cost estimation & Project controls / Procurement starting from proposals to completion of projects. Experience in the areas of Tender development, Commercial, Project / Contract / Proposals & Estimating department for more than 22 years. Order undertaken in total 15b$ worth of FPSO/FSO Projects. Participated in the New Build to Conversion and retrofitting of FPSO’s in more than 10 FPSO projects.

Don Raith, FPSO Delivery ManagerPremier Oil

Don is Premier Oil’s FPSO Delivery Manager for the Catcher Project. In that capacity he is responsible for ensuring that the Catcher FPSO Contractor delivers the FPSO and Services in accordance with Premier contract requirements including compliance with functional specification, basis of design and UK regulatory requirements, within schedule and budget to ensure that the FPSO can be operated safety, efficiently and with the required up time. Don is an oil & gas industry executive with over 30 years, offshore oil & gas, major project experience. He has a proven track record of successfully managing & delivering difficult FPSO developments, within very tight schedules & budgets.

Don has previously been employed by Technip, SBM, Modec, Bluewater, Hamilton Oil, ABB Lummus Global, Shell, AMEC and Lloyd’s Register whilst working in Europe, North America, South America, Asia & West Africa. He trained and sailed as an marine engineer in the British Merchant Navy. He is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institute of Marine Engineers, and a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and has a Bachelor’s Honours degree in mechanical engineering from Greenwich University in London.

Michael Skyum, Senior Vice President, Supply ChainBW Offshore

Michael is a Global Procurement Director, with a proven track record of leading strategic change throughout Europe, USA and Asia in several industries. During the last 10 years in Asia, Michael has been setting up entirely new procurement departments, some with significant annual cost savings of up to USD 100 mill. Michael was employed two years as a procurement consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers working with both governments and MNC before he last year joined BW Offshore as CPO, leading a global team of 100 supply chain professionals. Current role includes responsibility for both Fleet and Project procurement.

Subhash Gangahar, Topside Engineering ManagerMODEC

Cedric Morandini, Head of Naval ArchitectureSBM Offshore

Cedric is currently the Head of Naval Architecture at SBM Offshore Malaysia. In this role, Cedric is in charge of the mooring, risers, hydro, hull and marine teams for proposal, (PRE) FEED and EPC operations. Previously, Cedric was the Head of Mooring and hydrodynamic Department at Bureau Veritas. He was also the main developer and product manager of the mooring analysis software ARIANE. With over 20 years of experience, Cedric has been deeply involved with numerous floating production systems located in various water depths and in different environmental conditions, involving mooring & hydrodynamic expertise, and also riser and naval architecture activities. Cedric was recently involved in the engineering of the turret for the Apeng FPSO and is presently working on the Itchys turret.

Andre Vogel, Operations DirectorRubicon Offshore

Andre has more than 32 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas sector, Onshore and Offshore. He has been involved in all phases of the cycles, FEED studies, design, detail design, design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP’s, Engineering, Project management from the Operations aspect, Commissioning and Operations. Andre is experienced in setting up and managing operations in South Africa, Nigeria, Brazil and the Far East.

Jon Dunstan, CEOEMAS Production

Educated at Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine in London, Mr Dunstan started his career as a Structural Engineer within an EPC platform designer and later with a leading heavy-lift marine contractor. He joined London Marine Consultants (LMC) in 1998, and remained with LMC for 13 years eventually becoming Managing Director in 2008. Whilst at LMC he specialized in the design and supply of mooring systems and held senior positions on more than 10 turret projects.

Following the acquisition of LMC by the EMAS Group, he relocated to Singapore in 2011 and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer within the division of EMAS Production. In this role, he is responsible for supporting ongoing operations of their currently deployed FPSOs and also in pursuit, provision and operation of new fixed and floating facilities for the upstream oil and gas sector.

Angelo Spingardi, HSES ManagerSaipem Indonesia

Angelo Spingardi grew up in Italy (where he felt he never quite fit in), and graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan in Civil and Environmental Engineering (where he didn’t fit in either). He spent almost ten years working in Saipem with significant international experience working in different Countries. Highly motivated, genuinely flexible and thoroughly competent HSES expert, he has the passion for developing and actively working with HSE cultures that reinforce incident & injury free mind-sets, underpinned by a no-blame culture, contributing significantly and measurably to the Client’s bottom line through critical HSE functions. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, he’s overseeing amongst others, project HSE management; technical safety and risk management within high-value projects across oil and gas industry settings.

Dmitry Sadovnikov, Principal Naval Architect and Technical Authority for Floating StructuresWoodside Energy

Dmitry has been Technical Authority for floating structures at Woodside since 2012.

He has worked for several consulting and design companies before joining Woodside. Dmitry’s previous roles included Executive Engineer at INTECSEA (Worley Parsons Group) and Department Head at the Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute.

He has a PhD degree and 25 years of experience in Naval Architecture. Dmitry is responsible for the hull structure and moorings of Woodside FPSOs.

He is also involved in greenfield and brownfield projects, new technology qualifications and development of engineering standards.

Paul Pederson, CEORubicon Offshore

Paul Carsten Pedersen has many years of management experience in the drilling and floating production industry, with 29 years in the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group. Originally in Maersk Drilling and Maersk Contractors, he held a number of management positions where he was responsible for the commercial and operational activities of the group’s drilling rigs and FPSOs. He served as CEO of Maersk FPSO and Maersk LNG from 2008 to 2010. Prior to joining Rubicon, Paul served as the Head of Commercial in the Offshore Business Unit of Fincantieri Group SpA, a leading Italian shipyard group, and before that was Acting Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Rig UDW Inc. Paul holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and has completed his executive management training in the United States at Columbia and the Wharton Business School.

Hassan Basma, CEO and FounderHBA Offshore Pte. Ltd.

Hassan Assad Basma has 36 years of experience in the O&G industry, of which the last 22 years were spent in Asia. Mr Basma’s last position was of CEO of Bumi Armada Berhad and as Executive Director in the Bumi Armada Berhad Board.

Mr Basma served from 1 November 2005 until he stepped down on 1 January 2015. Mr Basma lead a multicultural team that transformed Bumi Armada Berhad from a local Malaysian owner operator of Harbor tugs into a major oilfield services provider in 19 countries on five continents and established BA as the no four FPSO player in the world. The market capitalization increased from approx. RM 500 m to RM12 billion.

Since leaving Bumi Armada Berhad, Mr Basma founded HBA Offshore Private Limited a bespoke consultancy and advisory firm specializing in offshore and offshore production systems engineering and contracting (FPSO, FLNG, FSRU).

Mr Basma has held senior management positions since 1993. His work experience has spanned five continents covering Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Australia, South East Asia His vast experience spans several sectors from subsea and pipelines, jackets and topsides through to floaters and floating production solutions.

He has spearheaded many ‘firsts’ throughout his career, including the first Deepwater Floating Production, Storage and Offloading System (“FPSO”) for the Kikeh Field in Malaysia, the first gravity actuated pipe application in the world, the first cogeneration power plant in Singapore, the first petrochemical plant in Kuantan, Malaysia for BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as well as the front-end engineering and design for the first on-shore gas field in China, for Shell Changbai, the first FPSO for ONGC in India, the first Malaysian built and owned dynamical positioned marine vessels and designing building a Derrick lay barge and transporting it thru the Volga Don canal to the Caspian Sea for reassembly thereby opening the land locked Caspian to offshore projects.

Jose graduated as Civil Engineer for Catholic University Rio de Janeiro in 1974 with an MBA in Finance. Jose has more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, participating in a large number of offshore related projects associated with fixed and floating production units. Jose joined DNV GL in 1981 in Oslo as a structural engineer involved with design approval associated to North Sea projects. Following this, he returned to Brazil and became head of technical analysis group engaged with project management, classification and certification as well as supervision work related to offshore projects to Petrobras. Jose has also served in several management capacity such as Country Manager in Mexico and Director of Operations of DNV GL Energy business in South America from 2000 to 2011. After completing the Naval Accademy, he was Excutive Officer on Italian submarines, spending 12 years in the Italian Navy. Arun Duggal, Director of Research and DevelopmentSOFEC

Arun Duggal is the Director of Research and Development at SOFEC, Inc., a business unit of the MODEC Group. His responsibilities range from overseeing research and development activities in mooring technology, to managing projects related to mooring systems. He has been employed at SOFEC for over 18 years and has been an active participant in industry conferences and meetings, authoring and presenting over 50 papers. Arun started his career as a Research Associate at the Offshore Technology Research Center, TAMU, where he participated in several industry model test programs focused on both research and commercial projects. Arun then joined SOFEC as a Research/Mooring Engineer and worked on several ground breaking projects like the Terra Nova FPSO (Canada), the Kizomba A & B FPSOs (Angola), and current FPSOs in the pre-salt basin offshore Brazil.

Brendan is a co-founder and Managing Director of Vanguard Solutions with over 35 years broad experience in Safety and Reliability Engineering, Process Design and Process Simulation. In 2013, with Principal Consultant Zoran Sekulic, Brendan also founded Vanguard Risk and Safety Asia Pte Ltd, as Vanguard’s new venture in Singapore.

Brendan is well regarded in the industry both for his technical expertise and for his leadership on risk and safety issues. He has broad knowledge of topsides, FPSO and pipeline systems, with extensive experience in feasibility and conceptual design, modification and optimisation and safety/risk assessment of new and existing facilities. Harry Fortuin is the Global Business Line Manager for Descaling, NORM-Decontamination and Decommissioning services for M-I SWACO Production Technologies since 2011. This business line focusses on Descaling and Well Stimulation Chemicals and Services and assists operators with dealing with NORM-decontaminated scales, sludges and oil and gas equipment.
