    Procedures Manual, this paper consists of: (1) an abbreviated list ofcommon Spanish surnames and (2) a detailed list of Spanish surnames.These lists are used to determine Spanish surnames by the U.S. Bureauof the Census. More than 2,000 names are listed in alphabeticalorder. Spelling variations which may be formed by adding a letter orletters to the end of the surname are shown in parentheses after thename.     Article 6 (e) of the General Provisions of the Laboratory's

    Operating Program Contract with the Federal Government requires the

    Laboratory to furnish all information and reports required by

    Executive Order No. 11246 of September 24, 1965, and by the rules

    regulations, and orders of the Secretary of Labor. Under this

    Article, the Laboratory is required to submit an EEO-1 annual report

    to the Department of Labor. This document reports the number of

    minority group employees in designated job categories. One of the

    Minority groups is described as "Spanish-Surname Americans".
