    THE WEST END PROJECT

    InlinewiththeopeningoftheElizabethLinelaterthisyearCamdenCouncilisundertakinganinfrastructureimprovementprojectcalledtheWestEndProject.

    TheWestEndProject(WEP)isthelargestpublicrealmprojecttheCouncilhaseverundertaken,investing£35mtoimprovetheTottenhamCourtRoadarea.Muchofthismoneyisexternallyfunded.WorksonthisprojectcommencedinMarchthisyearandwillfocusonimprovingtheroadnetworkandexpandingpedestrianwalkways.

    Part of the West End Project will be upgrading the traffic flow surrounding Sovereign House and the Princes Circus area. This will include closing off Shaftesbury Avenue from New Oxford Street, and pedestrianising the road directly outside the retail units.
