Southall Traffic Study

• Funded by the Area Committee with a five year timescale 

• Reviews accidents, congestion hotspots and rat running routes 

• Identifies 57 possible small scale schemes  

• Recommends a one-way gyratory system for King Street, Western Road and Montague Way

• Currently out to public consultation 

• Funding has to be found for selected schemes

Southall Gateway Link Road

• Improve access to Bridge Road and Great Western industrial estates 

• Improve access to Gas Works site from the east 

• Reduce traffic volumes within Southall Town Centre particularly for east – west through traffic: Boadway / High Street and possibly Western Road 

• Bus interchange at station for Crossrail  

• Traffic modelling studies due November  

• Massive funding required  

• Uncertainty of impact of TfL’s Tram proposal
