Issue No. 3 Date: 12th March 2015 South Bunbury Primary School and Education Support Centre NEWSLETTER The staff at South Bunbury Primary School have been fundrais- ing for our sister school in Bali, Nyambu SD1. The money we raised last year went to purchase a new sign for the school. This year I would like to do a lot more fundraising in order to pay for a new toilet block, as the existing one is not very hygienic. I am planning a sausage sizzle at Bunning's or Harvey Norman later on in the year, so if you are interested in helping out with that or any other fundraising ideas please contact Ibu Zulsdorf at the school. Photos of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new sign and the ribbon used will be on display in the front office in the coming weeks. I am sending posters made by South Bunbury Primary School students, stationery, sporting goods and old readers to the sister school in the next few weeks, If you have anything to donate please leave with Lisa at the front desk. On Tuesday, 10th March 2015, four fire officers from the Bun-bury Fire and Rescue Team visited our school and spoke to the Year 3 students about fire awareness and safety procedures. They showed the student the various equipment which is used on the heavy rescue truck and the special gear which is worn in

active fire fighting.

The students‘ questions were answered and great fun was had in operating the powerful fire hose. The visit was very informa-

tive, worth while and enjoyable.

Each student has been issued with a statement of 2015 Volun-

tary Contributions and Charges.

We are currently sitting on 47% Voluntary Contributions paid

across the school which is very pleasing.

We urge parents to pay as soon as possible so the funds can

be distributed to support activities throughout the school in term

1 and term 2.

A big thank you to all of our parents who have already made

your payments.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or EFTPOS in the

office. Centre pay arrangements can be made. Please see Sam

or Lisa for the necessary forms.

Virtue of Courtesy

Courtesy is being polite and having good manners. It is a gracious way of speaking and acting which gives others a feeling of being valued and respected. It is greeting others with respect. ―Please‖, ―Thankyou‖, ―Excuse me‖, ―Hello‖, ―Goodbye‖,. ―You‘re welcome‖ are not just words. They are courteous expressions that show people you respect them

and care about them.
