Give a Damn, Give a Can

Please make your payments at the school office. EFTPOS and Direct Deposit is available. Please help us reach our goal of

100%. Thankyou to the many families who have paid their voluntary contributions for 2017 already.

Every cent helps us to provide resources for each child at our school.

Our aim is to reach 100%.

So far our collection rate is 45%.

The “Give a Damn, Give a Can “ project is an important annual event that is organised by the Rotary

Club of Bunbury Leschenault. and is supported by our school each year.

All donated items are distributed to the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and the In Town Lunch Centre.

Mr Puzey and Mr Eastman, from Rotary, collected our 12 boxes of goods last Wednesday. They needed a trailer to stack all the

boxes. Well done to everyone who donated to this important community project and displayed the virtues of generosity and

kindness. Thanks to Darcy and Rosie, two of our student leaders, who helped pack the donated goods ready for collection.

Meaning

To be tolerant is to accept differences. You don’t expect

others to think, look, speak or act just like you. Tolerance

is being free of prejudice, knowing that all people have

feelings, needs. To be tolerant also means to accept

things you wish were different with flexibility and patience.

Signs Of Success

You are practising tolerance when you

Accept differences

Are free of prejudice

Don’t complain when uncomfortable conditions can’t be

helped

Make others feel included by reaching out in friendliness

Change yourself instead of trying to change others

P&C News

QUIZ: - The P&C are holding a quiz night and all proceeds go towards the renovation of the undercover area. This area is used by both SBPS and the SBESC and as it is such an essential part of our daily activities, we would love to see it given a spruce up. We are seeking donations of products, services or money to use as raffle prizes or other prizes throughout the night. Please contact Kerry on 0447 180 729 if you are able to donate towards our event.

FETE: - Our P&C Christmas school fete is on again this year on November 26th on the school oval. We are seeking donations of books for our book stall. These can be adult novels, children's and non-fiction books. Any donations will be greatly accepted at the canteen.

GRADUATION: - Graduation items are on sale and orders can be taken at the front office or at the canteen. There are bears and soccer and ALF balls to choose from. They are $25 each and all proceeds go towards renovating and brightening the un-dercover area. Orders must be placed and monies in before the end of term 3 to give enough time for the orders to reach us before the Year 6 graduation.

Rugby World Cup

SBPS were lucky enough to secure a visit from the Rugby League World Cup (one of only 8

schools in WA).

Students from Year 3-6 were given the challenge of making head gear from a cardboard template and learning more about Rugby League and the teams who will be

involved in this year’s World Cup.

Perth will play host to two games later on this year. Mr Allen even managed to do some pin swapping

to add to his hat collection.

GO AUSTRALIA! (and France our

back up team).

WOW!! What an opportunity! X5 Academy have donated all the proceeds from their school visit on June 6th, back to

the school to help support the year 6 camp. What a wonderful experience for our children.

Please support this amazing gesture by providing a gold coin donation.

Parkour aims to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal

movement, and other movements as deemed most suitable for the situation.

On Tuesday 6th June, the team from the X5 Academy will be visiting South Bunbury Primary School. They will be performing a parkour/ free running demonstration for our children, and then each class will have a session with the X5

Academy team.

The equipment used will be provided by both X5 and the school. The activities will cover basic hands on parkour skills

and develop better decision making regarding safe “play”.

The X5 Academy has kindly donated their time, and we are asking for a gold coin donation from each child. Money raised will go to our fundraising for Year 6 School Camp.
