In 2009, Pakistan Conference on Sanitation (PACOSAN) was conceived to translate the objectives of Delhi Declaration 2008;
Development of Pakistan Approach to Total Sanitation (PATS); Formulation of National Sanitation Action Plan (2010-15); Activation of WASH Cluster/WATSAN Working Group in response to
Floods 2010; Prime Minister’s Program on Sanitation being developed to actualize
Pakistan’s commitment to achieving MDGs; Passing of 18th constitutional amendment to accelerate service
delivery and improve fiscal flows at provincial/ local levels;

Sanitation is included in National & Provincial Development Frameworks: PRSP-II (2011-13), 10th Five Year Plan (2010-15) and Vision 2030;
