Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, and it was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Last few years Maharashtra state is facing acute shortage of electrical power which has an adverse effect on our industrial growth. Almost the same situation exists all over India. The government has planned to enhance the generation of electrical power by 10,000 MW per annum. Other reforms are also being introduced. Keeping in mind the huge employment potential, we have introduced electrical branch at SBPCOE in 2010. The curriculum set for this course is such that the student acquires knowledge in electrical as well as electronic subjects Electrical engineering deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as the design of a range of related device. These include transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering, and power electronics In many regions of the world, governments maintain an electrical network called a power grid that connects a variety of generators together with users of their energy Power engineers may work on the design and maintenance of the power grid as well as the power systems that connect to it.
