Message from the chair(HOD)
It is with great pleasure that I share with you the 2013-14 activity report for the Computer Engineering Department, S.B. Patil College of Engineering , Indapur.I take the privilege to welcome you all to the Department of Computer Engineering at SBPCOE Indapur , Department of Computer Engineering was established in year 2009 with the aim of developing professionals equipped with knowledge and skills to cope with the needs and challenges of this dynamic field of Computer Engineering.
We have a team of highly qualified regular faculty members engaged in research, teaching, learning methodologies and corporate training programs. In terms of infrastructure, Department of Computer Engineering is one of the best equipped department in the region and our students are exposed to variety of hardware and software platforms. High speed internet facility (24×7, 4 Mbps Dedicated Connection from BSNL(Pri), 1 MBPS Dedicated from Reliance(bkp)), internet connectivity gives our faculty and students an edge over their counterparts.
The Department organizes workshops/seminars/competitions and extracurricular activities from time to time to provide our students and faculty a platform to interact with their peers from all across the country. We are continuously striving hard to improve upon the quality of our students. In this time of tough competition the only way to step ahead is networking of all kinds of resources- people, ideas, knowledge and expertise. The core of the department is formed around the students and faculty. Together, we can steer the department towards a path of evolution.

Department Activity Program
Workshop:
I. Workshop on “Hadoop in Action” dated 24th Aug 2013:
The department of Computer Engineering and MCA jointly organized a one day workshop on
“Hadoop in Action” on 24th Aug 2013. The experts of the workshop were from industry.
Participants to the workshop were the students from both Computer Engineering and MCA.
Around 120 students get benefited from this workshop.
From this workshop the students got the information like what is big data, big data &hadoop
strategy, evolution of hadoop, need and future of hadoop, what is google map, hadoop toolkit
and its applications, installation process, hadoop programming, hands on lab, case studies etc.
From this workshop we can say that the students got both theoretical and practical
implementation of hadoop.

II. “Demo Lecture on IBM certified courses by Sheetal P. Soni
on 10th October2013
As per directions given by you , I Mrs. Anjali More coordinated with Training and Career
Education Head of IBM Ms. PoojaRai for starting the IBM certified courses in our campus .
The main objective is to train our students in advanced technologies which having highest
demand in IT companies and which is helpful for their placement. Regarding with the same I put
the following queries after discussing with you and they gave answers to our queries.
The answers to our queries by Head of Training and Career Education IBM :
1) Name of the technologies which having highest demand in the market.
Mobile Application Development , Cloud Computing , Mastering JSP & Servlets, Software Testing, DBA are having good demand.

Channel Manager From IBM India Private Limited Yerawada , Pune . She delivered
the demo lecture on IBM Certified courses. During lecture she explained all the details

shown their interest at maximum extent. The Lecture was Satisfactory.

I. “Flag Design Competition” on the Occasion of Celebration of Engineer’s Day on 16th September 2013.
With reference to above mentioned subject the “Flag Design Competition” was organized on the
Occasion of Celebration of Engineer’s Day on 16th September 2013. We got a huge response
from student participants and the event was concluded with grand success.
Flag design is a sign of Pride and Positive affirmation of Loyalty. This Event has
provided a platform to all the students to show their hidden talents by their designing creativity.
They have expressed their views about the organization by their innovative and creative flag
designs and flag codes.

participated and shown their talent with great enthusiasm.

Industrial Visit for the students of BE Computer at Ace Componants and Elctronics Pvt. Ltd.The electronics industry underwent a radical change in India since the early '80s, prompting us to enter the market at the time, with contemporary technology.
