Sometimes, students and teachers willdiscuss work and then the student willrecord the key points from theirdiscussion. This is often used in practicalsubjects, like Music.

The student, a peer or the teacher mightuse a key or highlighting to refer to thesuccessful aspects of their own work

The teacher will write comments tosupport each student’s further progresse.g. corrections, questions to promptfurther development

Students are expected to use theirteachers’ feedback to make furtherimprovements and corrections e.g. Thisstudent has written an answer to theirteacher’s question, showing moreprecise understanding.

This example from History is used toprovide feedback on a test. Students cansee how many marks they got out of 3for each question. The teacher has thenasked specific questions which wouldgive that student the opportunity toearn previously missed marks.

This student has been asked to onlywrite on the first two thirds of the widthof the page, leaving space for theteacher to give feedback and then forthe student to make improvements tospecific parts of the work
