WHAT The annual Soirée benefit gala is an evening of art, industry, community, creativity, and fire in support of The Crucible’s education programs. Held at The Crucible, this artistic evening begins with cocktails, followed by a delicious dinner, fiery performances, and an exceptional live art auction. WHY The Fire & Light Soirée and Art Auction, our signature fundraiser, sustains The Crucible’s one-of-a-kind industrial arts education programs. You can make an exciting impact while celebrating in blazing style. And where else can you dine underneath a fire cloud and experience a spectacular performance designed by Crucible Founder Michael Sturtz, while expanding your art collection by bidding on stunning works by prominent local artists? THE CLARION AWARD Celebrate the contributions and vision of honoree Charles R. Olson, past President of The Crucible Board from 2012-2017, and Partner in the San Francisco law firm of Lubin Olson & Niewiadomski LLP. Charles’ long-time commitment to the industrial arts has left a lasting legacy. He was instrumental in helping The Crucible acquire its West Oakland building, and through his consistent, stable leadership and counsel, The Crucible has grown to serve over 10,000 people annually. ABOUT THE CRUCIBLE The Crucible is a nonprofit arts education organization that fosters a collaboration of arts, industry, and community.
