SOIL INVESTIGATION REPORT I. SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURE The soil sample was obtained in the Moldex Residence’s excavation site located along Ben Plispis Highway, commonly known by its former name, Marcos Highway. The site is 30 meters away from the Total Gasoline station and beside of it is the diverging road going to crystal cave. The excavation will be used for the foundation of the buildings that will be built by Moldex Residence Realty Company. According to its historical background, the ground surface soil was a backfill came from the excavations when the Marcos Highway was built. In order to have good soil forfoundaion, they had to excavate deep until they reach the original soil. When the site was visited on July 2, 2013, the excavated area was about 20 meters below the ground soil. Good weather condition was observed, it was quite windy and no rain showers. A backhoe was generally used for the excavation. The excavation had started weeks before we visited the site. Upon visitation the excavation the excavation was deep enough to reach the original soil. We went down to the exaction site and gathered soil samples that are large enough and good for trimming. In gathering, we just picked up soils of good condition excavated in the previous days of excavation because the backhoe was under repair during that time. The soil sample mass collected was observed to be reddish in color. Its texture is somewhat a little bit rough, hard and has no smell. The gathered soil sample was transported to one of our group mate’s house through a vehicular transportation. The trimming of the soil samples was done there using cutter, knife and ruler as trimming tools. We came up with four cylindrical and four rectangular parallelepiped of dimensions 3 by 6 and 2 by 2 by 8 respectively.

SOIL INVESTIGATION REPORT

I. SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURE

The soil sample was obtained in the Moldex Residence’s excavation site located along Ben Plispis Highway, commonly known by its former name, Marcos Highway.
