Absoivenliiprogramului de licenfi Asistenji sociald vor fi pregdtili sE activeze la nivelul standardelor gi tendintelornationale gi internalionale, dar gi in m[surd si-gi continue formarea academic6 prin studii de masterat gidoctorat.Specialitatea de Asistenf[ SocialS a fost institu[ionalizatd,in Republica Moldova in anul 199g, c6nd la USMa fost inmatriculatd prima grupd de studenti.la aceaste specialiiate, concomitent cu includerea profesiei deasistent social in ,,Nomenclatorul specialitatrilor Republicii Moldova".
