Ultimate Electronics is a small business withoutA web site or a Social Media presence.

If you look at that last slide, you will notice that the owner hasrecognized that he is listed on the web and has posted some pictures of the inside of his business.

Only problem is the owner has not kept up withthe site to see what others are saying.

The reviews on that site are verydamaging to Ultimate Electronics. Nothing is beingdone by this owner to address the concerns expressed, so when anyone who researches this business seesthis they will gosomewhere else.

These are all real life examplesas they presently exist at the time of this production.

As you can see, even if you do notthink you are on the web, chances are high that you are wrong.

Virtual businesses have the opposite problem however.

Virtual businesses have to work very hard to get noticed especially if you have no commercial phone listing.

With the explosion of cell phones and VOIP technology, it's easyto cut out the expense of a commercial land line.

At least a commercial phone willcause a listing into many ofthe mass listing sites.

If the mass listing sites do not know about you, then you truly areinvisible.

You have a web site up and no onegoes on it as no one can find it.

You can try SEO and even PPC.

These will help to a smallextent. What you need are someserious strategies though.

Taking advantage of every areaof Social Media can bringin huge results especiallyif you cross linkall your sites.

Build a blog on a separate hostingsite from your web site and cross link.

Now if you find you have a presence on the web and you find outto your horror that thereare negative commentsabout your business, what do you do?

Let's go back to the example of Ultimate Electronics.

As the owner, take ownershipof the issues. Try and trackdown the poster. Offer to fixthe issue.

Post on the site where the bad review is located, what you have done.

Ask the person who has complainedif they would be willing topost an update.

Once you have corrected all the issues, start a new SocialMedia campaign.

You now want to project a positive image that peoplewill respond to.
