Snug Harbor and Steamboat Slough have been featured or included in many different articles about the Delta, especially after SHR was named “Best Small Park of California” in 2001 by the California Travel Park Association.
However, since about 2008 DWR has managed the flows through the Delta as if always in a drought, which has caused a sharp increase in invasive water weeds and a marked reduction in low tide water levels, resulting in reduced use of marina on the cove side. (See water weeds slides)
