Hello! In 8 quick slides, I’m going to show you how easy it is to broadcast SMS from smsexpress.com.au

I know you’re busy so let’s get cracking!

Step 1. Go to Maintain Groups to create your Group. Groups are your customer lists, and you can create as many Groups as you need. For now, I will create 1 Group to show you..

You can also have the same person across many Groups for super targeted campaigns

Step 2. Now we need to Import Data into our Group. If you have only a few records, you can manually type them in via Insert Single Number….

..but today we’re going to Bulk Import my customers from an Excel file on my computer…

Here’s a screen shot of my Excel file..don’t worry if Excel chops off the 0 as it will be changed to 61 once imported:

You can see below that I have uploaded the file from my computer and imported into VIP Customers Group…and told the system it’s an Excel file.

You can also import CSV and Text Files.

TIP: If you have trouble importing Excel, try SAVING AS a CSV and reimport. Excel can be a right fusspot if you have exported from another program!

Also note there’s some quick tips on screen to guide you.

Step 3. Message time! Go to Bulk Message and type out your message, Preview, then Send….or Close and edit if necessary.

And off they go! Next step is to check the delivery report and check for Replies..

Sent/Queued shows sent SMS plus those scheduled to go out at a later time. A popup window allows you to view in your browser or download to Excel or CSV..great for surveys!

Now let’s check for Replies from my customers..

Replies shows me that 3 people have replied to my message. I can also reply to the reply (2 way sms) .

Plus I can have any replies cc’d to my email for free and/or to my personal mobile phone (cost 1 credit). This is done in your Account Settings.

7..if you prefer sending from Outlook, no problem. There’s instructions on the website or ask us to help you set this up. It’s quite easy to do!

Thank you for watching. This is a very basic overview, which took me about 3 minutes to import my customers, and get the SMS out. As Groups stay in your SMS Express account until you delete them, future broadcasts will only take seconds.
