Beaufort Lions Club Front Street Gallop 5K and Salty Dog Walk (11/3). Assist at this great Diabetes Awareness event, in which humans and four-legged friends participate! Meet at the Roadhouse at 0600; will return around 1030. Food and beverages provided!

Crystal Coast Band Classic (11/2 and/or 11/3). POV only. Assist the Havelock Marching Rams during their annual band competition! Volunteer opportunities are available on 11/2 for set-up, along with event operations on 11/3 (1000-1400, 1400-1800, and 1800-event conclusion). Breakfast with Santa (11/29 and/or 12/1)! Help with set-up and/or tear down of the Carolina East Foundation Breakfast with Santa Event! o Thursday, 11/29: Assist with loading/unloading Holiday supplies and event set-up. Meet at the Roadhouse at 0730; will be

completed around 1430. Lunch and beverages provided. o Saturday, 12/1. Assist with event tear down, loading and unloading Holiday supplies. Meet at the Roadhouse at 1500; will be

completed around 1900. Dinner and beverages provided. Hurricane Florence Relief Volunteer Projects. Please see our website for complete, and up-to-date lists on how to assist. Thank you for your

Annunciation Catholic School Scroogefest Volunteering (11/14 through 11/17): Help this school with their annual Scroogefest to include decorating and event activities! Times and additional details to be released on our website.

Veteran’s Organic Garden Volunteering in New Bern (11/9 and 11/17). We will be assisting the Veterans Employment Base Camp and Organic Gardens with a variety of clean-up and construction projects due to Hurricane Florence. Meet at the Roadhouse at 0900. Will return by 1430. Please wear long pants, boots/tennis shoes, and bring lunch/snacks, water, gloves, and mask.

Habitat for Humanity (11/6 and 11/27). Assist with Habitat’s newest build in New Bern. Meet at the Roadhouse at 0700; will return around 1230. Please bring bagged lunch and water source. Please wear closed toed shoes, and weather appropriate civilian attire. POV Habitat opportunities are also available on other days of the week! Please see our website for details.

Ft Macon State Park Special Projects (11/13). Assist with cleaning up Ft. Macon Beach and Trails and other special projects! Meet at the Roadhouse at 0800; will return around 1500. Please bring sunscreen, closed toed shoes, hat, bagged lunch (or $ for lunch), and water source.

Animal Shelter (every Saturday): Volunteer at the Carteret County Animal Rescue. Assist with walking the dogs, meeting with potential adopters, special projects, and cleaning. Meet at the Roadhouse at 0700.

Volunteer with Riverpoint Nursing Home (every Wednesday): Volunteer with our seniors! Attire is proper civilian attire. Meet at the Roadhouse at 1700.

Havelock Boys and Girls Club (M – F). POV only. Volunteer with our local Boys and Girls Club! Assist with mentoring, tutoring, homework, coaching, and activities! Please contact the Boys and Girls Club at 252-444-5437 for additional details. A one-time $10 background check is required.

WWII Museum Restoration (on-going M—S; works around your schedule). Love cool history? Want to help save our WWII history?!! Learn how to restore some of the coolest artifacts and VEHICLES from WWII at the Newport WWII Museum. POV only; please contact Frank at [email protected] to set up a time to volunteer!

New Bern Christmas Season Decorating Volunteering: Help our local community decorate their outdoor community with Christmas lights and decorations. Please wear boots/tennis shoes and outdoor weather appropriate clothing. Dates and times TBA on our website.

Other November and December Volunteer Opportunities will continue to be posted on our website as we receive them, so make sure you check our website if you’d like to participate in additional opportunities!

NOVEMBER SPECIAL EVENTS:

SMP THANKSGIVING DINNER (11/22). Enjoy the Holidays with a great home-cooked Thanksgiving Dinner of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, candied yams, Hawaiian rolls, and desserts! Participate in some flag football and competitions, or watch the football games and holiday movies. Event starts at 1100 AND dinner will be served at 1400. If you’re on duty, we will bring a meal to you!

UFC FIGHT NIGHT (11/3). UFC 230. Five Round Heavyweight Title Bout: Cormier vs Lewis, Weidman vs Souza, Branch vs Cannonier, Roberson vs Marshman, Brunson vs Adesanya and many more!! Prelims kick-off at 2000; Main fight starts at 2200 at the Roadhouse!

Marine Corps Birthday Celebration (11/10 at 1700). Join us for us for cake to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday!! SMP Council Meeting (11/15 at 1430 at the Roadhouse): ALL ARE WELCOME!!! SMP is YOUR program, so come fill us in on your recreation

ideas, volunteering ideas, and QOL concerns. College Saturday and Tailgate Sundays!! (every Saturday and Sunday). SMP Colleges Saturdays and SMP Tailgate Sundays are here!!! Come

enjoy your favorite football games, great company, and great Roadhouse specials!! Pool Tournaments (11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 11/27) at 2000. Canvas and Cork (11/14) at 1900. Enjoy fun art projects at the Roadhouse! All art supplies and instruction provided free of charge. Poker Tournaments (11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/22, 11/29) at 2000. Texas Hold ‘Em (11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24) at 1900. Cards Against Humanity Night (11/4, 11/18) at 1930. Bible Discussion Group! Every Tuesday at 1900 in the Roadhouse reading room. SPECIAL TRIPS:

SMP and DEVIL DOG DARE (FREE!). SMP has received a number of spots for Devil Dog Dare, to include PAINTBALL. Two packages available! Includes the activities, lunch, and drinks at NO CHARGE to the Command/Marine/Sailor. Open on Fridays, and available Tuesdays and Thursdays. Advanced reservations required please.

o The “Fun” Package consists of the Zipline, Drop Zone, and Paintball (includes gear and air with 300 paintballs. Lunch and beverages included! (0700-1430).

o The “Challenge” Package consists of the high ropes challenge course, rappelling, rock climbing and mountain bikes. Lunch and beverages included!
