At Lindab, we are committed to improving the indoor
climate and simplifying construction. We achieve this
by developing innovative products and solutions which
are reliable, energy-efficient, economical and simple to
design, install and use.
Making things simpler in all regards not only allows us
to make the construction process easier, more conve-
nient and more cost-effective for our customers, it also
means we can help promote energy efficiency and a
more sustainable world.
Innovations for customer success
We know that the success of our customers contribu-
tes to our own success. This is why our emphasis is on
developing solutions to streamline your operations.
Neatness and order and is every bit as important. We
always aim to maintain long-term relationships based
on outstanding service and straightforward, effective
methods.

We simplify construction
Finding ways to make the world better. And safer.
We enjoy a challenge here at Lindab. This is why
we are always looking for new ways to reduce our
climate impact and make life easier, more profitable
and more convenient for our customers and users.
Lindab Smoke Control Systems are a part of
Lindab Protect. With this new fire safety solution,
we can also make life safer.

Lindab - Smoke Control Systems
Fire in a construction environment presents a major
threat to the building structure, the interior and the
people inside. But with the right fire protection you
can ensure that damage and injuries are kept to a
minimum, and even prevented if and when a fire
breaks out.
Lindab Smoke Control Systems is a complete ventila-
tion system which actively protects property and saves
lives in the event of a fire. Forced evacuation of smoke
and heat minimises the spread of fire and limits smoke
emissions. Entrances and escape routes are kept clear
of smoke, allowing people to get to safety quickly and
ensuring efficient firefighting.
Certified and reliable fire protection
Reliability is crucial for Smoke Control Systems. Each
component has to be tested to ensure that the system
will retain its stability and remain safe even at very high
temperatures. This is why CE labelling has been manda-
tory since 1 July 2013.
All the components in our system are CE-labelled in
accordance with EU Directive 89/106/CEE and product
standard EN 12101-7, as well as being tested to EN 1366-9
Protect life and property
Smoke control ventilation is primarily a matter of human
safety. In the event of a fire, taking just a few breaths
could cause unconsciousness and, at worst, death. This
is why it is incredibly important to limit the risks right from
the time buildings are constructed. Efficient, safe evacu-
ation must also be made possible in buildings designed
to be used by lots of people all at once.
Lindab Smoke Control Systems is a complete system
designed for all types of buildings, and guaranteed to
enhance fire safety.

Make your building safe and sound
Lindab - Smoke Control Systems
Fires give off a lot of heat, smoke and toxic combustion gases
which are hazardous to humans. Fire inside a building may also
cause extensive damage to the property.
Both circular and rectangular systems
Circular ducts have a number of advantages over rectangular
ones. They are more airtight, have lower energy consumption
and weight and a smaller insulation area. They are also easier to
install and more aesthetically appealing. But of course, we pro-
vide both circular and rectangular duct systems so that you can
choose the most appropriate option for your specific project.
Our Smoke Control System is designed to:
• Control and force evacuation of fire and combustion gases in the event of a fire
• Keep rooms and corridors clear of smoke
• Minimise the intensity of fire
• Delay and/or prevent flashover
• Facilitate and streamline evacuation and firefighting
• Minimise damage to property and the structure of the building
• Save lives and keep people safe

When there is a fire, overpressure is created in the fire area. The
air expands when heated and looks for ways out to other areas
where the air pressure is lower. Lindab’s Smoke Control System
is designed to control smoke and heat, and direct them out of the
building. The effects of pressure and heat are then controlled so
that the intensity of the fire is minimised and the spread of fire to
other fire compartments is prevented.
The system is made up of a number of components such as
smoke control dampers, compensators, ducts and fittings which
are reliable even at very high temperatures. Smoke is evacuated
by means of one or more mechanical fans.

Lindab’s systems meets all design and installation require-
ments specified for Smoke Control Systems according
to European standards. These installations are divided
into two categories according to the law.
Single compartment
Smoke control duct for single compartments, tested at
600 °C for 120 min, 1500 Pa. No insulation required.
Certified according to integrity criteria E (EN 1366-9),
classified E600 120 S (ho, ve) 1500Pa Single.
Smoke control ducts for single compartments are used
to extract smoke and heat from fire-classified single
compartments.
Multi compartment
Fire-resistant smoke control ducts for multi compart-
ments, tested at 600 °C for 120 min, 1500Pa. Fire-rated
insulation required. Classified according to integrity crite-
ria E and thermal insulation I (EN 1366-8, EN 1366-1).
Multi compartment air inlet and/or extraction ducts are
used when air into the duct comes into direct contact
with any fire compartment other than the one in which
the duct is installed. The duct sections in direct contact
with compartments other than their own should be pro-
vided with fire insulation.
Lindab - Smoke Control Systems
Single or multi compartment
We develop systems and solutions to make life simpler,
and Lindab Smoke Control Systems are easy to install
as well.
Our safe, reliable and complete solution comes in both
a rectangular and a circular version. We recommend
using circular systems because such systems have
a number of advantages over rectangular ones.
They are easier to install, offer better airtightness
and use 25% fewer materials – and these are just
some of the advantages of circular systems.

Good thinking is a philosophy, deeply
rooted in Lindab´s soul. This guides us in
everything we do. Taking responsibility for
what we do and how we do things are key
for us. Because good thinking is not only
about making life easier and more comfor-
table for our customers and end users, it´s
also about thinking in a global perspective,
all the time. Knowing that all of our actions
contribute to making the world a better place.
