Seven ye ar old Sara (name and photo changed to protect her identity) lost her mother and baby brother in a landslide several y ears ago. They live in one of the slum commu nities of Guatemala City wher e we work. The four remaining siblings were divided between the fathe r and their aunt (sister of the deceased mothe r). Several y ears later, one of the girls began to share of the sexual abuse she exper ienced from her father while living with him. When this information was reported to our team, we took immediate action and had her, along with the two sisters that wer e living with the father, checked at a local medical clinic. After two days in government facilities until 1am in the morning, two days in a row , (and many more details in between) we were able to assist the child protection services of Guatemala in rescuing her two sisters from the father. They are currentl y living with their aunt in a very poor , confined area but they are safe. Please pray for Sara, her sister s, her aunt as well as our team as we begin the road to healing for these precious little girls. SARA ’S STORY... ARNM’s p assionate staff is dedicated to serving, loving and rescuing the for gotten street chil dren and yo uth of Guatemala. AMG has decided to rename the Child Protection and Restoration Department that Chad is the Director of to At Risk No More. Chad is now responsible for 10 people focusing on5 initiatives related to at risk children: street children, network ing with local churches and like-minded organizations, discipling at-risk youth, pr otection and restor ation and churc h- based foster care. Please pray for energy, strength and joy in His presence as decisions are being made and extra time is spent coordinating the details. FAMILY UPDATEThis year, Emmet is in 3rd grade, Arianna in 2nd and Aleia in kindergarten. We really feltwe needed the social outlet of the Christian school here in the city, so we moved closer tothe school and I'm (Marlana) a teacher's aide (pictured below) 3 mornings a week tosubsidize some of the kids’ tuition. It's been a great decision for all of us! I get to helpanother missionary's daughter who is adopted from here and has special needs. She is abeautiful little lady and I already know God is teaching me so much through her and ourrelationship. I felt so isolated our first few years here, so I'm grateful for the community allof us have now that we are involved at the school.
