  • ANSWER FOR PAPER 1(40 OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS)ACDCDCDDDCCBBCCDCCCDDCACACCCDBCCADDACDAD

  • SAMPLE ANSWER ( PAPER 2 )SECTION A:COMPOSITION (30 marks)The bar chart shows the amount of time Form 3B students spent on leisure reading in a week. Among the fifty students, twenty-one of them spent between two and four hours on leisure reading including two students who spent less than two hours of leisure reading. . This is considered insufficient and that it leaves much to be desired. One fifth of the class enjoyed between four and six hours of reading. I think we need to put in a few more hours of reading to achieve a satisfactory level. Nine students spent between six and eight hours reading while eight students spent eight and ten hours of it. This tells us that they are the few who read sufficiently . It is hoped that we can allocate more time for reading instead of other leisure activities because reading brings knowledge and critical thinking among other things. SECTION B: Summary (10marks) Mosquitoes spread dangerous diseases; so we must take steps to protect ourselves./ We can use mosquito coils but not for long./ Also, we can wear long-sleeved shirts or tuck our trousers into our socks./ We can also keep windows and doorways shut or fitted with screens to keep mosquitoes away./ The screen must also be checked for holes and repaired./ (60 words)

  • SECTION C:LITERATURE: (10 marks) Robinson CrusoeThe values that I can see in Robinson Crusoe are perseverance, adaptability and courage. Crusoe perseveres through every difficulty that arises in his life when he is shipwrecked on a deserted island. This makes him stronger. Through a positive attitude and a love for life, I can understand how Crusoe is able to endure the hardship and loneliness of living all by himself on the island. He does not lose hope although the circumstances seem hopeless. He fights back by adapting to the situation. He is willing to learn whatever new things that life can teach him on this lonely island. He uses what nature provides and drawing on his intelligence, creativity and determination to survive, quite cheerfully builds a basic life for himself. I really admire Crusoe for he is indeed brave and creative. or

    Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde

SECTION C: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

In Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde I can see one very important lesson, that is, about the value of truth. Jekyll tries to hide the truth behind Hyde, but he only destroys himself. He intends to mask truth by separating the good and the bad within himself. As Jekyll, he plans to retain his popularity and good name. As Hyde, he indulges his evil desires. In the end, he dies a horrible death. Truth is also shown through Mr. Uttersons character who perseveres enough to get the whole truth about who Hyde is. He waited for several days until he was able to meet Hyde face to face for the first time. As a good friend of Jekyll, he wants to know the truth whether Jekyll is blackmailed by Hyde. The truth is known only when Hyde died. As a conclusion, I find that truth is a universal value that I think everyone should practise.
