day, we understand the pupils of the sem-inary were addressed by the Rev. Mr.Gerry, in a manner calculated to leave animpression in the minds of those present.His happy illustrations, and forcible ap-plications of practical truths, will doubt-less have the effect of awakening a deeperinterest in the youthful minds of thescholars attending our city school, in thevarious branches of study. We were dis-appointed at not being able to be present,but believe that at no time in the historyof our school, has more proficiency andinterest on the p;rt of the pupils beendisplayed, as is evident by the rolls ofhonor and the cumber of certificatesgrauted.

The P. T. Co, have been talking aboutconstructing locks around the falls andclaim to have sent an agent to the EasternStates to learn how to make 'em.
