Assorted Styles: Consist of really skilful effectsColor Sets: Consist of a combination of Different dege, face and background colorif you dont like black and white here you areDefault Styels: Very minimal styels, white background, black edges, white and gray front and back faces and no fancy edge effectsused when you start drawing because its good to start simple Sketchy edges: Gives the models look more like manual sketches than ever beforeStraight Lines: using thicker and straight lines with square corners for presenting the moels

Edit & Mix Pan1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-20155

Edges: Controls the (Visibility, color and other special effects) of your EdgesFace: Controls the (visibility, colors and transparency) of the facesBackground: Controls the color and visibility of the background, sky and the ground planeWatermark: you can use images as backgrounds or as overlays..Modelling: Controls the setting of colors and visibility of a bunch of elements in your model, including section planes and guides

Edge SettingsMost of the times Edges are turned on because sketchUp is an esge based programm its hard to do any work with them turned off.Profiles: Enables you to use a thicker lin for edges that outlines a shapeDepth Cue: its using different lines to convey the depthclosest objects are drawn with the thickes lines whereas distant things are with thinnes onesExtensions: Gives your model a sketchy style even when you are not using (NPR) sytlesEndpoints: Just try and see itJitter: Available for non NPR stylesgive your model (Hand drawin Effect)Halo: Available in NPRCreates an empty around objects in the foregourndmaking the object neat and easy to read1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-20156

ColorsAll the Same: use same collor for all the edgesBy materials: the edges take the color of the mateials they are painted withby Axis: displyas the edges by the color of the axis they are parallel to

Choosing default colors for front and back facesBetter to leave as as they areAnd never forget that frontColors are whiteBecause when exporting to Other programs., they mMay distinguish betweenFront and back1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201510

Choosing a face style (a face mode)Wireframe: in this mode, your faces are invisible and so you cant affect them. Only edges are visible which is good for :1- When you want to select the edges onlyswitch to Wireframe mode

Hidden LinesThis modes displays all your faces using (color of your background)Having a white background and turning on Extensions and profiles or depth cue is very nice1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201512See Next page

ShadedThis mode displays your faces with colors on them * Faces painted with a solid color appears its color while faces that you added textures are shown with a color that best approximates their overall color.

Advantages : Speed UP orbiting, zooming and navigations(unless you absolutely need to see textures you have applied to your faces or else it is best to stay in this mode1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201514See Next page

Shaded vs Shaded with Texture

1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201515

Shaded with TextureUse this when you want to see your model with textures visibleThis mode puts a lot of strain on your computer thats why its best to use it only for (small models or when you want to export your model to google earth) or else shaded mode is the best to work1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201516

Display Shaded Using All SameWhen you want to give your model a simplified color scheme use this.It uses your Default front andBack color to paintYour model1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201517

Enable TransparencyBy deselecting thisall the transparency will look opaqueTransparency quality based onBetter performanceNicer GraphicOR Average of two

You can pick a color and even choose to have translucent .1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201519Show Example

Working with Watermarks

Things you can do with watermarks1- Simulate a paper texture just like the styles in the paper watermarks library2- Apply a permanent logo or other graphic to your model view3- Layer a translucent or cutout image in the foreground to simulate looking through a frosted window or binoculars4- Add a photograph background like outer Space or inside my colon to create a unique model setting1/3/2015Geo Technical Engineering Page 2014-201520
