    Prof. Adibul Hassan Rizvi along with other senior doctors welcomed the articiants. !he

     briefing was given in a sacious auditorium. "r. Rizvi started his briefing e#laining the need for 

    a $idne% translant and dial%sis center. &entioning socio economic condition of the countr% he

    said that Pa$istan is in the gri of economic crisis leading to disarit%. !he government sends

    health care is neither being rovided b% the government nor affordable b% the ublic. !he basic

     hilosoh% of Sindh Institute of ,rolog% and !ranslantation -SI,! is to /ma$e the imossible

     ossible0. It is 1ommunit%2*overnment2"octors relationshi roviding secialized medical care

    to the oulation at large suffering from $idne%3 liver3 related cancers and translant rocedures

    45ree of 1ost6.

    SI,! redominantl% serves those reresenting the marginalized segments of societ% belonging to

    various arts of Pa$istan who cannot afford costl% secialized medical care available elsewhere.

    State of the art medical facilities are being rovided without an% discrimination of caste3

    girl who died of cerebral hemorrhage. Her $idne% was successfull% translanted into a

    TRANSPLANTATION-

    Patients suffering from $idne% failure can be best treated b% translantation when a health% $idne% is

    transferred from one erson to another b% relacing the damaged or failing $idne%. !he whole

    e#ercise is erformed b% carr%ing out series of medical investigations. ith regular chec$us3

    medication and constant surveillance a translanted erson can lead a health% and a normal life.

    also done merit based through advertisement and short listed through a committee.

    the government has a lot of art to la%. !o as$ the government about funds one has to show the

     erformance. &oreover ublic also contributes a lot e.g. machines and buildings are also donated

    sometimes. e calculate our reEuirements and then get donations. Our accounts are audited b% &Fs

    5ergusons3 chartered accountants.

    !he articiants visited various deartments and wards of the institute. !he cleanliness3 care and

    other facilities are commendable not below an% world ran$ing hosital. !he doctors are ver%

    courteous and helful. !he atients and their attendants were also satisfied with the treatment of the

    hosital. !he onl% future challenge to the institute is to maintain the high standards of service

    deliver% and atient satisfaction in all the new hositals and centers being oened b% the management

    in various arts of the countr%.
