General Information

Accommodation(standard room rates) “One day she will be the Queen of the

East”, said Charles Napier a hundred yearsago about Karachi. It was then, only asmall village. Until 1725 A.D., Karachi wasjust a barren piece of land, where a fewfishermen lived in small huts on the sunnycreek. There was a pool of water known asKalachi-jo-Kun. ‘Kalachi’ was the name offisherman whereas ‘Kun’ meant a deepditch. Therefore, “Kalachi-jo-Kun” meant thedeep ditch of Kalachi, the fisherman.

Today, visitors can explore themonuments and landmarks that are alegacy of the British Raj - -the Pavilion atOld Clifton, the Gothic-styled Frere Halland the red-brick Mohatta Palace.

Indeed Karachi presents an amazingcombination of old and new, traditionaland contemporary and has something tooffer everyone - local bazaar that are abargain hunter’s delight to modernshopping malls, restaurants and artgalleries and of course, the beaches.

A trip to Karachi is never complete withouta relaxing day at one of the beautifulbeaches. Visitors can also enjoy crabbing,deep-sea fishing and yachting in theArabian Sea and hence make their visit toKarachi truly memorable.

Karachi also boast of some excellent lushgreen 18-hole golf courses where visitorscan enjoy the sport all year round.
