Pune is the seventh largest metropolis
in India and the second largest in the
state of Maharashtra. It is situated 560
meters above sea level on the Deccan
plateau at the right bank of the Mutha
river. Pune is known to have existed as a
town since 847 AD. It was the first capital
of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati
Shivaji Raje Bhosale. In the 18th century,
Pune became the political centre of
Indian subcontinent, as the seat of
Peshwas who were the prime ministers of
the Maratha Empire. Marathi is the official
and most widely spoken language, while
Hindi and English are understood and
spoken widely.
Being Sinhgad Institutes’ campus at
the boundary of the Pune city, it has
become an attraction for students from
fast developing outskirts of the city.
This campus has now become one of the
major educational hubs in south east
part of Pune city.
The institutes include Engineering
College, Pharmacy College,
Management Institute, Commerce
& Science College, School & Junior
College.
The campus has independent spacious
buildings for various institutions, along
with all other resources & facilities.
A pollution free environment where
the students breathe fresh air and play
on spacious play fields. The entire
enchanting atmosphere is conductive
to the overall development of the
students.

21st Century will be identified in future by sophisticated infrastructural developments and public utilities. Civil engineering will be the prime engineering sector to shape this century by catering the utmost important infrastructural facilities to the human kind to take care of his dreams regarding housing, public health engineering, irrigation of agricultural lands, power generation, transportation through roads, rails, docs and harbors, airports, bridges, tunnels, infrastructural engineering, town planning and the green buildings through green technologies. To carve all these facets of sophistication in the living standards and comforts of human life and to keep pace with his high levels of expectations in his civil life, the role of civil engineers is the prominent and unique one. To meet with all these challenges and to build tomorrows India, the demand for civil engineers will be the ever largest than any other engineering sector of this era.

The Engineering Science Department builds up the foothold of the students and provides interdisciplinary acquaintance of various branches and its subjects. The department laboratories are introduced with view to develop very basic scientific and communicative attitude and temper, in all the budding Engineers to lay the foundation stone for the future technocrats in the practice of their field. The education imparted to the student is effectively carried out by the way of personal attention of the staff members in order to achieve its set aim and objectives. Similarly, the tutorials, class tests and extra-curricular activities are arranged for the student’s academic advancement. Engineering education has evolved over last few centuries to its present form. The 21stcentury vision envisages an agile educational system to provide quick response to changing market and social dynamics. We always make our students to inculcate these all perspectives in their mind so that they should mould and prepare themselves for wide variety of successful careers in both industry and academia.
