1-4.The matter of managing JSPS SF Office

(1) Sustainability・ Staff changes frequently, and important information like network and know-how will be lost.→ How to success and expand the important information as 「JSPS SF Center」?

SIH Symposium session1 「overseas offices」 JSPS SF office

(2) To enhance the ability of dealing with Collecting Sending Information・We need to enhance the ability for collecting and sending the newest Information of Japanese researchers and projects.→ How to get the newest academic and scientific information?(How to find the way to get the information?)

・ America is large and various. Japan is diversifying rapidly.→ How to decide the subject to collect/ send information effectively?

What is a good tool?

(3)Distribution of resources・ It is most difficult to decide how to distribute the limited human power and money to react to these problems.

2-5. The matter of JUNBA(1)The range of activities and members・ Basically, the member is supposed to be in the Bay area and to be able to attend the meeting. However, the organization that has the office in the US but is far from the Bay area, may request to join, but we need to talk about the range of activities and members.

(2) To enhance the ability of dealing with Collecting & Sending Information ・ We are still on the way to networking with each other, and our ability of collecting and sending

information is not enough yet.→ How do we reinforce the system for gathering and issuing information as JUNBA?(maintenance of HP, planning of the events, etc.)

・ It is important to link each network that each member of JUNBA has effectively.

(3)The differences of styles・ We are representatives of Japanese organizations, but we can’t do everything here as we would in Japan because there is cultural differences between Japan and the US.→We need to understand each other, and choose [Japanese style] or [Silicon Valley style]

depending on the situation. It is very important to make a balance.
