Sigurd Solberg is an all-round supplier, able to customise solutions in close consultation with our customers - a capability increas-ingly appreciated by shipyards. The techno-logical division at Florø supplies navigation and communications equipment for yachts, fishing boats, ferries, offshore- and com-mercial vessels. The company supplies package solutions, allowing the customer to avoid having to deal with a range of dif-ferent suppliers.

We no longer supply instruments alone for boats, we now design, develop and supply complete bridge and engine room consoles from our base at Florø to vessels all over the world. In consultation with Origod AS, Sig-urd Solberg AS has developed a flexible con-cept for bridge consoles of our own design. Our bridge consoles support the class re-quirements for one-man operated bridges for commercial and offshore vessels.

By the end of 2009, we will have supplied

bridge consoles for 15 vessels, and feed-back from shipyards and operators has been excellent. The Ocean Bridge console is designed for maximum safety of vessels and crew. Bridge personnel need a comfort-able, upright working position - and all con-trols must be within easy reach. Our design gives the crew full overview of all integrated screens and instruments.

Sigurd Solberg’s engineers have worked from Hammerfest in the north of Norway to Kristiansandin the south, in Brazil, the USA, the Persian Gulf,China,Japan,theBalticstates,RussiaandDenmark. Marine electronics in the west of NorwayMarine electronics are one of the main specialities for Florø-based Sigurd Solberg AS. The company’s headquarters are on the sea front of this harbour town, from where service and installation of marine electronics are provided for a range of vessels from yachts to fishing boats, offshore and commercial ships.
