WELCOME

As a father of 3, there’s been one thing that other fellow dads and moms have told me time and time again: “Enjoy it. Because it goes by fast.” Yep. One day I’ll wake up, and my little one will be a senior in high school. Most days, I don’t want them to grow up one stinking bit. But I know they’re supposed to, and I know nothing will make me more proud. And so, there’s no underestimating just how special this time is for you. As a Senior, you’ve accomplished great things and have much to be proud of. Honestly, it’s a legitimate reason to celebrate, and there’s no better way to do that than with custom, exceptional photography that will truly celebrate who you are today. That’s an investment that will be priceless, both today and many years down the road. After shooting over a million images since 2006, it doesn’t take long to figure out that trends come and go. Most shoot for the current fad. ‘Cool pictures,’ while fine, fall short (in my book).

And so, the reason I shoot is to create images that speak of your unique, one-of-a-kind soul and story...turning them into distinctive art for your home that will become as close to priceless as a mere possession can achieve. While I focus on a journalistic approach to photography, some ‘loose posing’ is necessary. But all directing is purposed to highlight the soul, story, and style of the individual. The approach needs to deliver a thoughtful combination of timeless portraiture, simplicity, and a fresh style.

Lastly, I understand the desire for distinctive imagery, yet the priority of value. While I’m commissioned by those who value photography, I strive to deliver a piece of art and a custom experience that’s...worth every penny.

- Kyle

THE PROCESS1. ASK QUESTIONSYou need to ask questions. We need to ask questions. Chances are, you’re interested in availability and pricing. Understandable. On our end, we’re interested in what you want most from this project. Perhaps you want to celebrate a special time in life. Or create the perfect piece of art for that dining/living/bedroom wall. Perhaps you understand that the era of boring, common, ordinary albums is over and you’d love to document the growth of your family or baby’s first year. The options are endless.

Arriving at answers might happen over a couple calls and e-mails. It might include an ‘in studio’ consultation. It likely will include a questionnaire. It might include all of the above. Every shoot is different. Every client is unique. Whatever it takes, by the time we arrive on shoot day, we have all the planning necessary (locations, dress, styles) to approach your session thoughtfully and in a way that will reflect your needs, desires, and goals.

2. BOOK YOUR SHOOTOnce you’ve ‘seen enough’ to decide Shultz Photography is right for you, we encourage you to get on our calendar as soon as possible. Please know that more planning for the shoot can (and will likely) take place after booking your shoot. Starting 2013 and beyond, Shultz Photography has fully embraced the custom experience. As a result, we accept a limited number of shoots in order to gain the margin required to deliver an exceptional product, and experience, to each and every client.

So, book your shoot asap! We’re probably already booked out a month if you’re reading this. You can get on our schedule with a deposit equal to half of the session fee. The other half is due at your session.

3. SHOOTTime to relax, have fun, and enjoy the shoot. Seriously, one of our most repeated compliments, even from fellas: “Wow, thanks, that was fun!”

4. IMAGE CONSULTOur process for ordering everything from exhibition quality wall art to small gift prints is a result of experience. Lots of experience.

I’ve tried proofing every way. I’ve tried client ordering every way. From completely online to completely in studio and every combination in between. Seriously though, if you only knew me you’d be laughing...because it’s true. And here’s what I’ve learned: the best way I can BOTH serve you and meet the goals I’ve already stated (hint: see paragraph #4 of the welcome page), is hands down to:

• Meet you in person, along with all decision makers.• Follow a carefully laid out system for helping you select favorites and match those with

your goals, desires, and print / fine art options.• Place the order

I can undoubtedly say that this system of an ‘in house’ image consult is hands down the best way for me to deliver an experience, and end result, that’s “worth every penny.”

HOW DO I BOOK / GET ON YOUR SCHEDULE?We can work on finding an open spot through e-mail ([email protected]) or by phone (217.415.9636). Once we have found a date, we’ll send you an official booking proposal via e-mail. This will walk you step by step through the official booking process and get you into our workflow which helps your project go smoothly from start to finish. This process also includes questionnaires and advice for getting the most out of your session. So please click on the link in the booking e-mail!

WHAT DOES MY SESSION FEE PAY FOR?The session fee pays for the photographer’s time and talent during the session, hours of post production work, and your image consult.

WHEN/HOW DO I PAY?Half of your session fee is due upon booking. The other half due at the time of your session. It’s simple to pay online via debit or credit, which is streamlined through our studio management software (again included in that booking process mentioned above). Alternately, you can print out the applicable invoices and mail in with a check.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO STAY IN TOUCH?E-mail or phone. We want to do as much as we can by phone, but please also realize that we are in a session or consult more often than not. If the phone doesn’t get answered, please leave a message. We’ll do all we can to call back soon! In the event that it’s after business hours, we might try an e-mail.

WHY IS THE DVD OF IMAGES YOUR MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM?Mainly because we do NOT want to sell you the disc. “Shoot and burn” simply goes against our funadamental goal: to create images that speak of your soul and story...turning them into distinctive art for your home that’s priceless. At the end of the day, we want you to be absolutely thrilled with your images, your experience, and above all with how our custom prints and art bring deep satisfaction, joy, and meaning into your home and lives.

In hundreds upon hundreds of sessions, I’ve never been able to accomplish this with a disc.

Trust me: the disc only becomes the proverbial shoebox full of images that you never end up doing anything with. Beyond that, the idea of having our meticulously prepared work printed at the big box store is a bummer. We feel confident that the investment in fine art wall printing, along with the experience of actually getting it done with our help, will be worth every penny.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Page 10: Shultz Photography | Seniors

WHAT DOES HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDE?Make-up, when properly applied, beautifully highlights your eyes, plays up your bone structure, and nicely evens out your complexion. Please inquire about our “looking camera ready” guide, plus our hair and make-up add-on services. Simply put, our add-on service includes professional hair and make-up to help you look 100% camera ready.

WHERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?Sessions may take place in the studio or on location, or both. Location sessions take place at your home or other favorite place.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?We actually have an entire other brochure for that. Please inquire!

CAN YOU RETOUCH BOO BOOS, SCARS AND WRINKLES?Yes! However, since it can take considerable time, we might not do it on every single im-age before purchase, though definitely can on all purchased images.

WHEN WILL MY PHOTOS BE READY?Your image consult will likely be pre scheduled around 1-2 weeks after the shoot. Final print orders will be ready about 2 weeks after ordering, depending on the print types ordered. The studio owns the copyright to all images, including proofs. Images may not be copied, scanned or reproduced in any way without written permission.

DO YOU HAVE A “PRINT MINIMUM?”Yes, as mentioned in the “creation fees” section, certain sessions have order minimums. This has become our policy after years of experience and with much consideration. Please chat with us should you have any concerns.

DO YOU ARCHIVE SESSION IMAGE FILES?We archive everything that is purchased, both in house and off location in other states. We delete un-ordered images.

WHAT ARE THE STUDIO HOURS?The studio is open by appointment only. Otherwise, trust us, we’re always working.
