What makes you, you? How are you inspirational? You’re going to make a magazine article for the Girlguiding magazine.

What to doGirlguiding magazine has contacted you as they’re doing a special edition

on leadership. They want you to be the cover star! Before they come to interview you, you need to do some prep work. First things first – think about your pose for the front cover.

Once you’ve got it, strike it! Does it show your leadership style? When

you’re happy with it, grab two sheets of paper and a pen. Draw your pose on one sheet.

Now, divide the second sheet into five sections to prepare for your article.

Check out the box below to see what needs to go in each section.

Interview preparation Here’s what the interviewer’s going to ask you, and how you should prepare:

• About you − tell the world about you. What’s important to you? Is it your friends, family, pet, school or a hobby? Draw something that represents these things.

• About your values − what drives you? Is it important for you to be kind, brave, thoughtful or courageous? Write down three values.

• About your leadership − think of a time you’ve shown leadership. This doesn’t have to be on your own – maybe you worked really well in a team, or made a good decision. Show it off through a comic strip.

• Who you admire − who’s your role model? Is it a celebrity, friend or someone else you know? Think about why you admire them and write it down.

• Leadership goals − what do you want to do in the future? Maybe you want a particular job or you want to do something good, like raise money for a charity. Write this goal in bold letters on your sheet.

Now, get into pairs. Choose someone to be the interviewer. Interviewer – ask

questions based on the five categories. See if you can really get to know the girl you’re interviewing.

After five minutes, swap roles so you both get a chance to be the

interviewer. Make sure you show your interviewer your leadership pose!

Take it furtherWrite your leadership article. Make sure you include your cover pose.
