afected every part o our lie. But most important thing is to be able to work and

communicate with people rom diferent background and ethnicity who are diferent

in terms o verbal communication and word meanings. More important sometimes

their attitude and reaction toward some tiny cultural diferences are so

sophisticated. Proessional needs to learn the importance o intercultural and sel

awareness in workplace.

People mostly come rom diferent background! ethnicity! diferent region " religion!

and diferent country and create heterogeneous workplace. #ometimes $nefective

communication or misunderstanding o cultural values in the work environment can

even lead to discrimination and harassment. $t does not only hurt an individual but

also the organi%ation reputation among the society.

&orkplace! where you will be interacting and communicating with colleagues at

least eight to ten hours a day and this interaction and communication play a key

role in success and ailure o workplace and efective work environment. Part o the

issue selawareness and many people are unaware o what their own culture is.

#elawareness which is de'ned by e(perts as understanding your own culture is

another main reason or studying intercultural communication. $t allows people to

know their own culture! cultural identity and cultural background. )his will lead to

avoid conusion misunderstanding o the culture and its concepts in society.

*urthermore! proessionals mostly ocus on amiliari%ing themselves with their own

culture and then studying others culture and see the diferences and use it as

positive marketing tools.

$n conclusion! +ecogni%ing and understanding cultures diferences and showing

respect to others cultures prevent discriminations. )his understanding paves ground

or more su,cient and riendly work environment. Most o multiculture companies

recruit people rom diferent background and diferent culture and society to have a
