the right venue can turn a great conference into an unforgettable occasion. So it’s good to know that sheffield boasts a wealth of outstanding locations outside the city and beyond.

the edge of our city is skirted by the M1 and touches the neighbouring centres of rotherham, Barnsley and chesterfield as well as open countryside. Indeed, a staggering one third of Sheffield lies within the glorious Peak District national Park.

And our satellite centres bring countless attractions in their own right.

green and leafy rotherham is an entrepreneurial hotspot, buzzing with commercial projects such as the Advanced Manufacturing Park. And Doncaster is a hugely popular conference destination, with its impressive flagship venue Doncaster Racecourse.

the Peak District and Sheffield go hand in hand. the city/countryside combination is a real winner. For example, let your delegates while away time at Brampton Manor or soak up the atmosphere of the country’s oldest Civic Theatre, The Pomegranate or take the rock Art tour at Creswell Crags, Britain’s only known ice age rock art.

chesterfield and Bolsover offer many trails and tracks to sleepy villages hidden among green hills and rippling river valleys and, every now and then, you´ll stumble across a stunning view, a fascinating garden or a stately home including chatsworth, renishaw Hall, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover castle. We can easily organise visits for you and your delegates.

Bakewell, famous for the pudding, is a delightful half day of shopping and sightseeing. the famous Caverns at Castleton are another popular draw and a house or garden tour at chatsworth (teamed with the Duchess’s cream tea and a spot of shopping) can fill a few hours or a full weekend. the area is a partner programmer’s dream!

the result is a whole spectrum of possible experiences unmatched by any other destination. With every conceivable kind and style of venue, you can be sure the sheffield City Region has the ideal choice for you.
