Performance NotesLamp unto My Feet, like Psalm 119, is a grateful reflection on the Word of God. Since itsrange is an octave and a fifth, it begins fairly low, so that the assembly can make it to the topnote (E flat). If desired, it could be transposed up for performance by choir alone. Because italso moves from one tonal center to another and back, attention to accidentals is crucial.
This song can be used at the Preparation of the Gifts as a thoughtful reflection on the Liturgyof the Word, for reconciliation, funerals, Rite of Christian Initiation and celebrations in theabsence of a priest.
