Shark ProductsHaving worked for many wildlife conservation groups including the Shark Trust and The

National Marine Aquarium before setting up my own 3d business I am unashamedly a shark nut. Over the years I have worked with and produced numerous shark related items. This small PDF brochure covers a few of them however, as a bespoke based sculptor and model maker I am always developing new ideas. SMOOTH HOUND EGG CASE SET £95.00 a set

A six piece development set which can be backlit to show the development of each egg case, is sealed so that it can be handled. They are produced in semi rigid/translucent plastics. They are slightly larger than life size, the set includes life size solid egg cases, comes in its own box and with information on the Smooth Hound. Great for outreach and educational studies.

RAY & SKATE EGG CASE ILLUMINATED DISPLAY £ 795.00

Size: L.100cm x W.25cm x H.20cm

Showing the following 10 ray & skates:

Flapper - White - Blue - Blonde - Small eyed - Thornback - Undulate - Cuckoo - Spotted - Starry

I am looking at replacing the Blue with a Smooth hound egg case to show a full UK Shark, Skate & Ray display.

The display is lit internally using strip LED lighting. The egg cases are mounted on a 6mm perspex base with name plates and sand effect printing. The whole unit is covered with a 9mm perspex cover. It comes as a sealed unit but is easy to open if required. The display can be used either on (powered) or off as shown above, great for outreach activities or as a mobile display. It can also be set into an existing area within your centre. This was developed during the Scottish Sea Bird Centre’s Ray Zone development and refit late in 2015.



REPLICA SHARK TEETH 13cm x 11cm

MEGALODON IN REALISTIC £40

Cast in resin and hand painted it can be cut to fossil look or to stand.

BRONZE COPPER FINISH £35.00

Cold-cast resin 100% copper or bronze finish.

CRYSTAL CLEAR £60

Cast in a new Crystal Clear resin this allows the tooth to look like glass and is great for displaying.



REPLICA TIGER SHARK JAW 52CM - £450.00 (boxed)

This replica jaw is a direct mould from a Tiger Shark jaw held at a leading UK aquarium. Moulded in four parts, it is hand finished and painted which allows you to have a quality shark jaw for display or education without endangering any more sharks. The jaw is produced in a high food safe plastic, each one is different due to the hand finishing and painting. Each jaw is marked as a replica.



Sharks

All Shark models are produced from marine grade resin and 2 x 450g fibreglass matt. Each item is hand finished and airbrushed, then lacquered for protection. The sharks can go indoors or outside. These are produced in the same way a fibreglass car would be. All hanging points are set in production with a large wood strengthener moulded in. Alternative display requirements can be discussed.

All sharks can be finished in an artistic finish, please contact me for further information, the blue shark shown as an example. Used in my solo exhibition in Devon

THE BLUE SHARK 1.5m in a classic “C” shape £ 2,800.00 (Realistic finish)

This piece can be used to go around items and can be cut in production to come out of walls (extra costs involved) The shark weighs approx. 17kg.



ARTISTIC BLUE 1.5m in a classic “C” shape £ 3250.00 (Artistic finish)

Any finish can be done please contact me to discuss. Any of the sharks seen here can be finished in an artistic way.



THE MAKO SHARK 2.1m (nose to tail) Weight approx. 25kg £ 3,000.00

This shark has the WOW factor in abundance, again each one is hand finished, and each mouth is individually made. The Mako has the bulk to give the shear magnificence of this beautiful creature. I have produced the Mako both for use on a stand or suspended from a roof space.



THE HAMMERHEAD SHARK 2.4m (nose to tail) Weight approx. 30kg

£ 3,800.00

As a part moulded sculpt, I use the Mako mould for the main body shape then sculpt in the bolder tail section and head, extend the fins and re-model to the finished Hammerhead Shark. Again this is a show stopper and can be finished to your requirements.



THE MANTA RAY Sizes vary as each Manta is made from scratch.

Prices start from £2,800.00 for a 2.1m wingspan. No gill rakers or cut through. Detail can be adjusted to include gill rakers and cut through. Also created using 450gm matt and marine grade resin, the Manta is started with a board former then fibreglassed over this. Three hanging points are set into the sculpt. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Manta Ray products sold will help the Manta Trust in their valuable work as we will donate a percentage of takings to the Trust

Fine Art Sculptures by Scott Gleed

As the same skills are required for both the life size and fine art sculptures, I have created many fine art shark & ray sculptures. I sculpt, produce my own silicone moulds and then cast. Made

in the cold-cast method, these are either airbrushed in realistic finish or patinated in bronze, copper, & aluminium.

I was a finalist in the David Shepherd International Wildlife Artist of the year 2009 with my Hammerhead “Shadow” see below.

Scott Gleed of Gleed 3D has worked with the Events & Exhibitions Officer at the Scottish Seabird Centre to develop two new exhibits, artwork, 3D models and interpretation for the Turtle and Ray Zone in its award winning Discovery Centre.

Starting with the most basic of initial concept drawings and working within a very limited budget he worked in an extremely professional and efficient manner to produce a project plan including detailed costings and timeline. He managed other suppliers involved in the project and liaised closely with the Events & Exhibitions Officer to ensure any problems that presented were resolved as quickly as possible. The end results were very impressive and have won rave reviews from our visitors.
