1. Shark: design tool for the thermotecnician designer Shark is the technical software developed by Unilab, indispensible to the thermal designer in the development of liquid coolers, heat pumps and conditioners. With Shark the design of a chiller, a close control unit, a conditioner, but also fancoils, condensing units and evaporative units, heat pump units, is intuitive and easy. In one working platform one can design a new unit, link evaporators and condensers (air, plate or shell and tube), compressors, fans (axials and centrifugals) and thermostatic valves: Shark identifies a converging point of the system giving useful information on the best solution. In Shark all the libraries of the exchangers, the compressors and fans are updatable: specific guides help the user in the data insertion and in the calibration during calculation phase. At the moment in Shark the following libraries are present: • Fans: Ziehl Abegg (FE, FL, FC, FB, FH), Ebm (AC), Nicotra (AT, ADH, RDH, PFN), Comefri (TLI,

THLZ, TLZ, TZAF, VTZ, NTHZ, THLZ, NPE) • Compressors: Bitzer, Copeland, Maneurop, Daikin, Hanbell, Sanyo • Thermostatic Valves: Alco, Danfoss • Plate Heat Exchangers: Alfa Laval, Swep • Shell and Tube heat exchagers: Onda, Alfa Laval, WTK. • On request, detailed list available Other features: • Creation of capacity tables of the unit at different temperatures (Excel format) • Extensive integration with the knowledge developed internally in the company through the Visual Basic

The software Shark requires the subscription of a maintenance contract that is mandatory, that allows the user to update the software via internet, incorporate new calculation functionalities and new components,

keeping always up-to-date the libraries. The user can always add autonomously new components through wizards.

3. 7 steps for a sample air-water chiller For a better understanding of the main functionalities of the software Shark, here is an example. 1) Layout del chiller: after we create a project, we add from the left side column, the icon of the

compressor, the finned packed condenser, and the evaporator plate heat exchanger, and we connect the refrigerant lines:

2) Finned Packed condenser settings: by clicking twice on the condenser, we can insert one or more

coils. These could be saved in the software archive or created at the moment:

3) Compressor selection: by clicking twice on the compressor icon, we can choose one of the Copeland

scroll compressor. We specify “2” in the “Quantità” field:

4) Evaporator Plate Heat Exchanger selection: by clicking twice on the evaporator plate heat

exchanger icon, we choose one of the model by Alfa Laval with a sufficient number of plates:

5) Creation of the second circuit in two clicks: Let’s suppose we want to create a balanced bi-circuit

unit, we clone the circuit just created simply by doing “Copy” and “Paste” like for any other software that runs under a Microsoft O.S.

6) Calculation and setting of the air flow: when we click on the “Calculate”, the software asks to set

the air flow for each condensing group:

7) Calculation Results: we can see the results of the convergence of the fans and of the compressors,

4. xShark xShark is the trading party software technical Shark, as it was conceived as a reference tool for the sales office, designed purely for distribution to agents and distributors. This program proposes the electronic catalogue for selection and estimation of machine for cooling liquids, heat pumps, roof top units, air

conditioners, close control units. It is a multi-language, with customizable graphics and data, which allows the creation of offers of more than one unit.

5. wShark wShark is the configuration data xShark. This software, for comprehensive data management of trading partner of Shark, will be issued with annual rent, renewable annually. The application allows the inclusion of series, subseries, prices, accessories, operating data point value, associations with the thermal profiles of the models created with Shark, operational management languages and translations into other languages, printouts management settings on how to access the data visualization. The annual fee includes technical support by internet Unilab updating the configurator with new features.

6. Page Builder Light Page Builder light is the software for the creation of product documentation in PDF format. Interfaced with the software and technical Shark xShark for the importation and the layout of the capacity tables and technical data. It is the software used to custom the printout.

7. New implementations with xShark 1. Possibility to save the offers in a shared folder, eg on a server for the centralization 2. Faster loading of databases offered through the interchange 3. Possibility to manage multiple systems of units (eg. SI, Technical and Imperial), associated to both the

calculation screen and to the printout pages, with its management interface. 4. Ability to enable and set models according to the list used. 5. Management of the characteristic curves of the pumps, which combines the machine name of the

pump instead of the polynomial coefficients. 6. Management tool display deals with the possibility to filter according to the business units of the

company. A statistical tool is incorporated 7. Adaptation of the software for optimal use in centralized environment, especially in CIYTRIX

Presentation Server environment.

The tool is mainly composed of three main functions. The management of users and management hierarchies are enabled only the user power user (Administrator). The end user will see only the management of the offers.

8. Hierarchy display with wShark The screen below shows the control panel for creating or changing the hierarchy display. In this case, a hierarchy of geographical constraints is created. The software gives the possibility to insert an unlimited number of trees. These trees will work as filters for the various offers.

For example the user A that belongs to the a specific unit and is the responsible for such area, will see all the offers relative to all the users under him.

9. Users Management with xShark The following form shows the control panel for the creation or the modification of the users registry data and the users hierarchy. In this case the user “Katende Antonio” will see all the offers relative to “Padova” and remaining going from the node Pippo downwards. The following form will show the details of the tree “Gerarchia Geografica”.

In this case we have a user which has been enabled to see the offers for 4 users. Under the top left corner the number of users and the amount offered for each user is displayed.
