Women constitute nearly half of the world population
Rural women form the most important productive work force in the economy of majority of the developing nations including India
Women play a significant and crucial role in agricultural development and allied fields.

Agriculture is the most basic and primary human productive activity and whenever it is undertaken, women have a hand in it.
Lot of decision are made by the women to manage farms but the technical information received by male members in the family is distorted while transmitting to women
OBJECTIVESOBJECTIVESTo find out the appropriate time for participation of farmwomen in group discussion meeting as perceived by extension personnel, farmwomen leaders and farmwomen.
To conduct a field experiment to study the gain in knowledge and symbolic adoption by dairy farmwomen due to participation in group discussion meeting at different timings.
To find out the relationship between the socio-economic, psycological and communication variables with dependent variable
To find out the problems faced by farmwomen in attending extension activities
REVIEW OF LITERATUREREVIEW OF LITERATURE
Participation of farmwomen in various extension activities According to Chandargi (1980) training has influenced
farmwomen to gain information on new technology.
Time , season of extension teaching methods and participation Raghupathi and Nagired (1989) found that existing time 6.30
pm for the farm telecast is not convenient to 95 per cent of respondents.
Gain in knowledge by farmwomen due to participation in various extension activities
Vishnoi and Sinha(1961) found that in Delhi union territory group meeting was significantly superior to personal contact, visual aids in providing improved agricultural practices.

2.Selection of villages Criteria for selection of villages: Availability of milk producers co-operative society.
Total number of villages selected : 103
Name of the selected villages Seethykempanahally, Addiganahalli, Kadathanamale, Linganahalli.
Selection of respondents From each of selected villages all the farmwomen of milk producers co-operative
societies share holders family were consider as the population for the study.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION
The gain in knowledge and symbolic adoption of dairy farmwomen was higher when the group discussion is organized at the most appropriate time.The commonly contributing variable for gain in knowledge and symbolic adoption in all the treatment were extension participation, extension contact, achievement motivation and aspiration. The most important problem encountered by farmwomen in attending group discussion meeting were restriction at home, non-suitability of time, lack of women group and pressure of work
