The Matrix is an adjustable recessed down light for a variety of different lamp types. Lumiraires with Metal Halide lamps

and low voltage lamps are powered by high quality electronic Metal Halide ballasts or high quality electronic low voltage

transformers. Electronic ballasts / transformers are housed integrally in the housing. Luminaires may be installed in plaster,

gypboard or acoustical ceiling tiles. A unique clamping mechanism securely fastens the luminaire into place. Re-lamping

does not require removal of luminaires. The lamp sits in a free floating cradle adjustable on a dual axial system. This

system allows for full adjustability in 360 horizontal direction and up to 30 vertically.

Each lamp is independently adjustable with various lamp type options and wattages, it is also suitable to accept glass lens

accessories.

The Matrix is ideally suited for retail applications or any areas where clusters of lamps are required.

Clearances The height of the valance ‘s’ depends on the lamp spacing, as per spacing guidelines

SPECIFICATIONS:

Fixture: Fixture shall be Cathode Lighting Systems model FCLS (Flexible Cathode Light Strip), and shall be field-adjustable to accommodate straight, curved or bent lamps up to 7'6" in length. Fixtures shall provide a continuous, uninterrupted line of light when installed as instructed. Fixtures shall be provided with integral male and female power connectors at each end to electrically connect each fixture to the next. Fixtures shall be satin-anodized .050" aluminum and stainless steel and shall be permanently connected with matching flexible cable. No disassembly, or entry into the internal parts of the fixture shall be required during installation, either for wiring or for mounting.

Lamps: Shall be 50,000-hour T6 cold-cathode fluorescent, color as specified, in curvatures, shapes and sizes dictated by the architectural requirements. Lamps shall be provided with single-pin bases for zero-clearance snap-in installation and removal into lampholders. (Lamps which are hard wired to the power supply in parallel or series are not acceptable alternatives).Lamps shall be manufactured with butt-sealed ends to provide complete illumination at each lamp end, and shall have provisions to be locked into place, utilizing the fixture's lamp-locking clips. Lamps shall produce 780 lumens per foot (35TC) and manufacturer shall provide independent test lab reports to substantiate.

Integral Ballast: Shall be electronic 990 volt, instant-start cold cathode, class P thermally protected, sound rated A and shall automatically de-energize upon removal of lamps from the fixture.

Approvals: Fixture shall be UL and cUL-listed under UL category: IEUZ Fluorescent surface-mounted luminaires.

Mounting TrackFour-foot sections of mounting track align straight runs of eW Cove Powercore fixtures. Cut the track to size and mount it to the cove substrate. Then snap the fixtures into the track, adjust its position, and attach the fixtures to the substrate (through the track) to lock them into position.

Supported DimmersUse standard line switches or electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmers (commercially available trailing edge or reverse phase control units) to control a series of fixtures.

Leader Cable and Series TerminatorsA leader cable (upper left in Figure 2) supplies line voltage to the first fixture in the series. Lights are interconnected with keyed male/female connectors and can be spaced with 1 ft (305 mm) or 5 ft (1524 mm) jumper cables to build the series. A power terminator is installed on the last fixture (below right).

Series LengthA single series can include up to 100 12 in (305 mm) fixtures or 150 6 in (152 mm) fixtures.

Fixture SpacingThere is about an inch of horizontal play in each pair of fixtures’ connectors, so the fixtures must be spaced end-to-end or with about 4.5 in (114 mm) between mounting holes in the fixture brackets. Although horizontal spacing is fixed, there is enough cable to make a greater-than-180° turn between fixtures. Use the one or five-foot jumper cables to add more distance between fixtures.
