MISSION STATEMENT

My mission is to elevate my hometown community, rural and underserved communities, and the world through

opportunities to better their health by increasing the availability of health education and education in general. I

plan to achieve this goal within 5 years by focusing on women and adolescents and addressing the health

disparities that plague this population with uniquely designed, health literacy/education and disease prevention

programs. I also plan to develop a program that exposes youth to post-secondary education and career

opportunities. This program will also give youth opportunities to prepare for the next stage in their lives through

afterschool education, recreational activities, and art exposure.

SMART GOALS

1. I plan to develop a reliable web-based resource of ideas and information for monthly health literacy/

health education tables and presentations that can be used by health professionals all over the world. I

plan to develop this web-based resource in one year.

2. I plan to develop a blog/website that will offer various topics that will increase education in various

areas including health, finances, and organization. This website will target the youth and young adult

population. The website goal will be to attend to the physical, spiritual, and emotional components of

each individual who visits. Through this they will be educated how they can improve areas of their lives

that the blog focuses on. I plan to develop this website within 6 months and have it functioning at full

capacity in 1 year.

3. I plan to develop a yearly health conference in my hometown of Georgiana, Alabama. The presentation

will offer education on disease prevention and how to use local resources to become and stay healthy.

The conference will also include education on how to maintain disease control. The conference will

address issues that are unique for that community. I plan to initiate this conference within 2 years
