Shaler Area: Now and Then GOAL: To pretend for a second that we’re historians trying to compare how things have changed from THEN to NOW. 1. Use an old B&W picture of Shaler, Etna, Millvale, or Reserve 2. Use Google Street View to attempt to capture a similar vantage point, zoom, and angle of that location today. -Google.com > Type in address/location > click “map” > zoom in and drag yellow guy onto the street you want. 3. Put both versions of the picture onto PowerPoint slide #1. Include a title of what it is we’re looking at. 4. Put a description of what has changed between now and then on PowerPoint slide #2. Consider buildings nearby, cars, houses, trees, streetlights, etc.
